I like that Points per Game average.

Patterson displayed flashes of very solid netminding when I followed him during his CHL & ECHL years, but he has bounced around so much among some not-so-good teams that he just never found consistency.  Still, his skill set is sound & he could be a good fit in Pensacola if coupled with a younger goaltending partner.  Good luck to him on this latest chapter in his hockey life.

It's great for Peoria that they had someone so dedicated to hockey in their town.

In similar news, Evansville is going to be hosting a ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of Ron Geary before Friday's home game. Laubscher Meadows Landfill will dedicate "Ron Geary's Corner" for the dumping of toxic waste.

Hate to say it but the only time we have been in all the games was when it started 0-0.  We have got scored on first every game.  Then he talks like we have got multiple points from overtimes, when we have one.  That one we had to come back multiple times in the game.  I can see he wants to be a nice guy, but being nice isnt going to win you games.  Plus he said you cant win it in October or November, but he sure is showing how you can lose it and put yourself in a huge hole in the beginning of the season.  I really hope they turn it around.  So far they have showed they can play one period a game.  Until they play a complete game, im still skeptical about them.  If something doesnt change soon he needs to take his rosey glasses off and change something before our season falls apart.

Greg, I hope you're right, but I'm concerned.

When the Dawgs beat Macon on the road to go 1-1, I felt really, really good about this team.

We had 7 home game in front of us, the first two against an Evansville team that had given up 11 goals in two previous games. I was hoping we would get on a roll, but then boom - two home losses.

Then we have Mississippi coming to town who just gave up 7 goals in their last game. Boom - two more home losses.

We have stretches where we play really well.  Then we have other stretches..........

It's a bit disheartening, but there is a lot of hockey to play.

Fingers crossed, hoping for the best.

You must not pay attention to most the offseason trades in the SPHL. It happens every year. A guy's rights get traded, then he never plays for the new team. A prime example is a guy who is now back in Fayetteville: Kalisz.

I hope that whatever event took the night of March 9th is a blockbuster and sellout because Sunday hockey games are traditionally really poorly attended.  Fridays are a very good draw, especially the latter couple months of the season.

Yeah, pretty quiet in here, they're so really, really hard-core fans at the games, not sure if they know about the forums, though (runs to go tell 'em).

NHL game doesnt have SPHL logos....I just go to "Create A Player" and create all players.....then I get the guys from FAY and select a team to put them on....I'm using new Las Vegas team this year. Then I leave all other created players in FA pool and start my franchise.....let the cpu select their own players. I have Bulls, Bolts, and Marksmen done so far.

Well, i enjoyed myself. There is some work to be done on the arena for sure, but they'll get there. There were seats that hadn't been installed and some folks were concerned about that.

I think the bulls people were able to get them situated. It was a great crowd. Filled the place up for the most part. I think the attendance was 3600 or so. I'm not really worried about a

loss at this point in the season. This is an expansion team that is having to make adjustments the others are not. I think they are very close to being competitive in this league. When

they get some time playing together, and get lines adjusted, they'll be fine.

Love this story. Quite touching indeed. However, when I read this phrase " Mike Murray still feels the impact" I thought about a recent tree.

Nice find, Kenny - thanks.

So what's up with the RYD red helmets & gloves this season?  Wrong order shipped, or a hint of uniform changes in the future?

With Bloomington having moved on to Tier 1 Juniors hockey, I needed to add another SPHL arena to my visit list & photo collection.  So here 'tis ...
Von Braun Center-Propst Arena (Huntsville Havoc)
That's a very impressive & fan-friendly facility y'all have down there in Havoc Land.  Cherish it.

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask  We are a player development league for the ECHL. That also includes referees.

I spoke to one of the owners the other day. Hockey is here to stay for a while. The owners have put a lot into the team. The players have a new break room and all new hockey gear. Looking forward to seeing the new zamboni tonight.

"Hometown boy does good ..."

Per the Peoria Journal Star ...

Will this be the new "hone opener" date for the Bulls?

Good points, Greg.  Of course, hindsight is always 20-20.  I'm sure Sam didn't expect the Game Misconduct on Kravchuk, which changed things.

Any idea what he did to get that? The Box Score shows "Fighting (Aggressor) (Game Misconduct)" but I'm not sure what that means in English.  TIA

I didn't have the heart to suggest we'd moved into second mostly because we've played an extra game . Glad the local news is ready to back it though.

In all honesty, the team has gotten incredible involvement with/from the local news channels and paper heading into the season.

Ditto everything you said!

Thanks for posting, Rh, good stuff.

If Brian Gardner keeps up these blog posts, please post & link them in this thread for a running tab as the RYD season rolls on.

Just came from the rink and talked to the Havoc staff. Teams are allowed 19 players on contract (in addition to any on IR), but only 18 are allowed to dress and be on the bench. Doc
