  1. With the League getting closer to 10 years of existence... these next 2 years are going to be crucial in the growth of the league. A few markets are coming in this year and hearing a few for next season with the rumored reconstruction of how the league operates, could help finally get this league over that hump. Also with Scott Brand and a few others helping to find good markets is only a plus as well. The league model is one that will def work if done right, and WS showed that last season. I expect growth in the other markets this coming year as well. Now they have a game plan to go by with WS. What rumored markets have you heard of joining? (Rumored) Mentor, Ohio Battle Creek, MI ???, PA ???, NC Salisbury, MD Traverse City, MI Anderson, SC Charleston, WV Danbury, CT Elmira, NY
  2. FHL's Future Unclear?

I really love that idea for the league. Have all owners own all the team and hire 1 commissioner to run the league.
  3. FHL's Future Unclear?

  4. FHL's Future Unclear?

That's correct about Asheville.... no dates in that center. I don't want to say what southern market is in play right now, but hopefully things will work out with it and they can announce it.
  5. FHL's Future Unclear?

    1. Florence is a NO Go until they get a big building for conferences to free up the big arena. 2. Ice is out the big arena also. 3. I think some truth to this.. but maybe closer to Cleveland. 4. don't think will happen 5. very good chance 6. I think they would love both of those in the league 7. No where in SC has big enough buildings except for Anderson sc Civic Center or Sumter sc Civic Center. Myrtle Beach wants too much to rent there building and have to bring in ice to all these. ** hearing there is a southern market in play now.
  6. The truth is it's not the team. It's the league. The league is trying to cut out a lot of the fighting so the ECHL will send down players to get playing time without getting hurt. The fighting overall in the league is cutting down. So with no fighting, you don't need the fighters anymore. Drobot will be pushed out the league, just like Barr was pushed out. Of course with no fighting, then big checks are taken out because players know they don't have the toughness behind them. So equals to boring hockey in my opinion, nothing what the league was built on. So many Southern Markets (Columbus, Fayetteville) likes toughness and fights, but not getting it any more. Now the league is at a crossroads... go more finesse like the NHL adopted or go to fighting and checking on what the league was built on.
  7. There are a few SPHL veteran coaches out there who could step in now. But for being turned around, it'll be very hard to do that unless a coach has a few players he could pull out of retirement as a favor.
