  1. Thanks for the honor. It’s much appreciated, but I’d rather have my Kings back.
  2. “Stone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage’ Richard Lovelace 1642. Two games do not a season make. You may well be right in your assessment. I appreciate your interest and opinion, but MRK’s problems this year are more about not scoring. The 166 goals allowed is the best of the non seeded teams. I imagine Trudel has a pretty good idea which team is the best match-up for his team. And this is a business. Playoffs aren’t really all that profitable so travel costs will probably come into play. I’m just hoping the Kings make the playoffs. Once they start anything is possible.
  3. Does this mean they’re going After the Fox?
  4. Congratulations, Lady King. It’s a award that’s well deserved.

  6. Thank you, Vol, for the award. The Forum is a great place keep up with the SPHL. I appreciate the time and work the members contribute to making it a success. Hopefully, 2018 will be an exciting and entertaining year for SPHL Hockey. Go ‘Kings Go
  7. Sometimes, being an SPHL fan, makes me feel like Dorothy in Oz- people come and go so quickly here. It happened again this week in Mississippi. Last night while looking at the game notes, I was surprised to see a new name listed as ‘interim’ GM. Gone was the name David Schmoll, just like that! How disrespectful to all involved. David’s been here since 2009 as an unpaid intern and done just about every job along the way. He worked hard to make the game experience better. He made a lot of friends in his time here. Now he’s gone- no good bye, no announcement, just gone. I think David deserved more. I know the fans do. Sad.
  8. I think he designed the logo. Bradley Field is listed as the Interim GM, so who knows how long he will last. It’s the Kings front office saga, a cross between Oz & Wonderland. People come and go so quickly. And when the Red Queen says, “Off with their heads” you can be sure heads will roll. Robin Grindstaff Costa Hurdle,(re:Maddox Foundation) is a very interesting story. The more you read, the more you discover.
  9. They may be looking for a sponsorship from Rosetta Stone.
  10. He played on defense in some games late last season. And did a pretty good job.
  11. And we have a WINNER!!! It’s all about the Benjamin’s
  12. I feel for the announcers and the person sewing names on jerseys.
  13. He was only in Mississipppi for part of the 14/15 season. One day he was here and the next day he was gone. No real reason was ever given. People come and people go in the Merry SPHL.
  14. The Pens changed to Black & Gold to match the team colors of the Pirates and the Steelers.
  15. Great to see Sherwood and Sutliff resign. Both will be valuable contributors this season. Welcome back!!!
  16. Thank you so much for the information you continue to provide. I really appreciate it.
  17. Rulevicius. Perhaps A distant relative of Roger Goodell, a viciOus ruler if there ever was one.
  18. It's great to see Ryan returning. Welcome, Pijus! Puck drop can't come soon enough.
  19. Thanks for the link. Interesting information. I have to wonder about the accuracy of the Veteran status, since Joe Sova of the Riverkings isn't included. The man has been with a lot of teams in the AHL, ECHL, and SPHL.
  20. Adirondack- Cullen Bradshaw- Mississippi
  21. Sova should be a vet. I'm wondering why Sherwood wasn't protected. And surprised to see Bradshaw because he never returned after his call up.
  22. Viya con Dios. To paraphrase Kris Kristofferson "never knowin' if spell check is blessin' or a curse'
  23. And so the coaching turnovers continue. With Columbus suspending hockey and Knoxville firing Craigen, it looks to me like Derek Landmesser is now the longest tenured coach in the SPHL. I will miss Mike and Jerome next season. Both are unique individuals. I didn't always care for some of their teams and tactics but I loved the passion they brought to the arena. I hope the future is kind to both of them. Vita con Dios!
