  1. LadyKing named March Member of Month

Congratulations, Lady King. It’s a award that’s well deserved.
  2. tmwrk7 named first Member of Month of 2018

Thank you, Vol, for the award. The Forum is a great place keep up with the SPHL. I appreciate the time and work the members contribute to making it a success. Hopefully, 2018 will be an exciting and entertaining year for SPHL Hockey. Go ‘Kings Go
  3. Sometimes, being an SPHL fan, makes me feel like Dorothy in Oz- people come and go so quickly here. It happened again this week in Mississippi. Last night while looking at the game notes, I was surprised to see a new name listed as ‘interim’ GM. Gone was the name David Schmoll, just like that! How disrespectful to all involved. David’s been here since 2009 as an unpaid intern and done just about every job along the way. He worked hard to make the game experience better. He made a lot of friends in his time here. Now he’s gone- no good bye, no announcement, just gone. I think David deserved more. I know the fans do. Sad.
  4. I think he designed the logo. Bradley Field is listed as the Interim GM, so who knows how long he will last. It’s the Kings front office saga, a cross between Oz & Wonderland. People come and go so quickly. And when the Red Queen says, “Off with their heads” you can be sure heads will roll. Robin Grindstaff Costa Hurdle,(re:Maddox Foundation) is a very interesting story. The more you read, the more you discover.
  5. They may be looking for a sponsorship from Rosetta Stone.
  6. He played on defense in some games late last season. And did a pretty good job.
  7. And we have a WINNER!!! It’s all about the Benjamin’s
  8. I feel for the announcers and the person sewing names on jerseys.
  9. He was only in Mississipppi for part of the 14/15 season. One day he was here and the next day he was gone. No real reason was ever given. People come and people go in the Merry SPHL.
  10. The Pens changed to Black & Gold to match the team colors of the Pirates and the Steelers.
  11. Great to see Sherwood and Sutliff resign. Both will be valuable contributors this season. Welcome back!!!
  12. Thank you so much for the information you continue to provide. I really appreciate it.
  13. Rulevicius. Perhaps A distant relative of Roger Goodell, a viciOus ruler if there ever was one.
  14. It's great to see Ryan returning. Welcome, Pijus! Puck drop can't come soon enough.
  15. Thanks for the link. Interesting information. I have to wonder about the accuracy of the Veteran status, since Joe Sova of the Riverkings isn't included. The man has been with a lot of teams in the AHL, ECHL, and SPHL.
  16. MRK sign Two

    Great to have Devin back.
  17. ECHL Protected Lists Posted

    Adirondack- Cullen Bradshaw- Mississippi
  18. Sova should be a vet. I'm wondering why Sherwood wasn't protected. And surprised to see Bradshaw because he never returned after his call up.
  19. And so the coaching turnovers continue. With Columbus suspending hockey and Knoxville firing Craigen, it looks to me like Derek Landmesser is now the longest tenured coach in the SPHL. I will miss Mike and Jerome next season. Both are unique individuals. I didn't always care for some of their teams and tactics but I loved the passion they brought to the arena. I hope the future is kind to both of them. Vita con Dios!
  20. Viya con Dios. To paraphrase Kris Kristofferson "never knowin' if spell check is blessin' or a curse'
  21. This RiverKings season ticket holder has complete faith in the word YELDARBfield. Could shifting of New Madrid fault cause an earthquake and divert the Mississippi River through the Landers Center? I guess. But natural disasters are a risk to any arena. And, God forbid, a worse bus accident could instantly end ANY team's season. Other than that, I have see no reason to worry. My season tickets are bought and paid for. I'm confident the Kings will be there and God willing so will I. This was the 25th season of hockey for the RiverKings. I'm looking forward to 26!!!
  22. First Penalty Free Game

It was a Sunday afternoon game. The refs probably worked Saturday night then traveled to Mississippi. They may have worked Friday night, too. I got the impression they were ready to get a shower and hit the road. There were some missed calls, there always are, but nothing outrageous. While the referees called nothing, the linesmen more than made up the difference with off sides and icings galore, and the multiple missed face off drops. But it was great to witness history being made.
  23. Omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. Hmmm.
  24. Quite a day for Ryan Marcuz. He scored a regular 3 goal hat trick AND a Gordie Howe hat trick. His three goals included a power play goal, an unassisted goal, and a short handed goal. HATS OFF!!!
