  1. Where was the new defenseman, did not see him in the lineup
  2. Sounds like a little ruff and tumble tonight, tomorrow should be a good one, way to go guys
  3. Played great defense last night, man I wish more folks would come out to the gamed
  4. I heard Pavlas was absolutely horrible in practice, thats why they did not stay with him.
  5. Good promo, let's give these guys some support
  6. Happy to see this also hope attendance picks up in the second half, great turnaround
  7. Vette for the past 5 seasons I sent emails to the front office and talked to team personnel to call in scores to tv outlets that cover our region and beyond, WECT, WWAY, WILM, Wilmington, WRAL and a few more, I never got a reply back, they do this for minor league baseball as well as other sports.
  8. Hockey is a contact sport, most fans are not attending to see blood baths, head shots or injuries, they are there to see at least some body checks and players bumping or knocking the opposition off the puck, in other words some good clean contact, if they do not see that they might as well went to a Flag Football Game. Someone on the forums mentioned the FHL possibly being a little rougher with more fights, well check out these average attendance figures for 4 of their teams. Mentor 411, Danville 883, Port Huron 841, Watertown 1014, not actually packing in the fans I guess.
  9. Happy to see the comments and yes we are a much better team when we are physical. I said all along that utilizing a stick check rather than body checking opposing forwards is not effective, it only permits the forwards to free skate in our zone. It is hard to watch a team blow leads in games and I am happy that problems are recognized and corrected. I may complain from time to time but always supported hockey in Fayetteville and win or lose I always will, see you at the Crown
  10. Would have liked to keep him, however he did not show much in his short time here, problem still exists with very little checking by the Marksmen, seems like they prefer stick checking to even bumping or knocking someone off the puck, I believe this team would be a lot better being more physical, stick checks in the corners results in the opposing players still able to get away and continue to free skate in our zone we saw a lot of that in our recent win. Stay out of the penalty box, but knock someone off the puck with a good hard clean check, PLEASE
  11. 4 goal lead, gone, when will we see some changes, nice d tonight, flat out pitiful, should be a pleasant bus ride home, they ought to leave about three quarters of them in Roanoke and start all over. I am hoping I don't get ticket vouchers for Christmas like I did last year, if so they will be hard to find someone who wants them. Headed to the bottom, just like last year, deja vu
  12. Game was as exciting as watching paint dry, Make Marky GM was at the game and he will agree with me. Total lackluster effort and it was really boring to watch. Absolutely no body checks were thrown and Roanoke was permitted to skate in our zone like it was an Ice Capades show, totally untouched. The new guy, well he was there, that's all that can be said about that. Max Cook, skated his butt off but the rest of the team had cement legs. Turnovers galore again that led to a big mistake by goalie Kelly resulting in the winning goal, he played great up to that point. Midway in the second and in the third we could not even get out of our own end. Drove 25 miles in pouring rain to see this, I love hockey but this team is getting painful to watch. If this was the first time you saw this team I honestly don't think you would come back. The best thing about going was seeing some of my friends and the fellows from Roanoke who I enjoy talking to.
  13. Well another loss, someone help me out I believe it was about this time last year when we made our march to the bottom, looks like we are headed in that direction again. We have given up 74 goals so far this season and that is by far the worst in the entire league including the current cellar dwellers, by the way they will be having some company next month unless some changes are made. 74 given up is at least 35 to 40 more than the number one and 2 and 3 teams. They better give away 5 buck tickets and special deals for sure cause this season has already been a big disappointment, management seems content with the current squad and that will spell disaster.
  14. Look at our stats for goals against, absolutely pitiful
  15. How do you give up a goal in the first 20 seconds, I attend the games and can see a repeat of last year coming, Weak d and no solid goaltending spells disaster in minor league hockey, After analyzing last year you would have thought they would have taken care of the problem, they have not, also playing soft doesn't help either
