  1. Well another loss, someone help me out I believe it was about this time last year when we made our march to the bottom, looks like we are headed in that direction again. We have given up 74 goals so far this season and that is by far the worst in the entire league including the current cellar dwellers, by the way they will be having some company next month unless some changes are made. 74 given up is at least 35 to 40 more than the number one and 2 and 3 teams. They better give away 5 buck tickets and special deals for sure cause this season has already been a big disappointment, management seems content with the current squad and that will spell disaster.
  2. Look at our stats for goals against, absolutely pitiful
  3. How do you give up a goal in the first 20 seconds, I attend the games and can see a repeat of last year coming, Weak d and no solid goaltending spells disaster in minor league hockey, After analyzing last year you would have thought they would have taken care of the problem, they have not, also playing soft doesn't help either
  4. I agree Pie, I don't like goon hockey, but we have size but don't even bump anyone off the puck, just clean hard check them once in a while, Surely the coach notices that they don't touch anyone
  5. I saw one good check thrown in the Saturday disaster, we are the softest team I have seen here in a while. Need to play a little physical, winning home games is really important in minor league hockey, team has potential for sure but they are not exciting to watch at the moment, hope changes are made before it is too late, look at Peoria guys, they make changes all through the season, it is not too late to get players, all the other teams are doing it. You don't have to fight but for God's sake, put a body on someone once in a while. Opposing forwards are getting free reign in our own building without being touched. Watched the Jets in Johnstown, PA growing up and no matter how horrible they were, you did not come into the War Memorial and push them around, you might have won the game but you did not forget where you won and was a little sore the following day for sure. Talked to many former players who played there and they definately remembered coming to play the Jets, always physical for sure.
  6. You need to win home games and be tough in your own building, that is what draws fans in minor league hockey
  7. This is the softest, non checking team in Fayetteville's history and if attendance doesn't pick up, Fay hockey will be history
  8. May not hit 1000 at the Crown tonight
  9. For the last 5 years I emailed and asked why the hockey scores were not called in to the 5 or so TV stations that serve Fay and outlaying areas, free publicity right there, they do it for minor league baseball, my efforts fell on deaf ears
  10. 1191 on Friday against Knoxville, Only 1545 fans on Saturday against Roanoke, what in the world is going on, this better improve guys or hockey will never last in Fayetteville. 1545 on a Saturday may be a record or close to it. We have heard all the excuses before like football or it will pick up later. Ticket prices are good, the entertainment is excellent, the promotions are good but where are all the hockey fans in Fayetteville, don't think just signing a lease is a guarantee a team will survive. The Crown is not even worth opening for so few people. We may not be drawing as many people as some teams in the beer league, FHL. Sure hope this improves before it is too late.
  11. Wow would have been a good game to see, we were outshot 53 to 26 but still managed to win in ot with 1 second left, we did however blow another lead this time a 2 goal lead, hats off to Murray, he has to be shell-shocked. This team needs to find a way to protect a lead, tonight they gave up a short-handed goal as well. Maybe with a few changes or adjustments on defense would help. Also we also seem to give up a good number of goals in the minutes after we score ourself, this is another thing that will be corrected I hope. But a win is a win and 3 out of 4 points in Peoria is really an accomplishment. Go Marksmen now lets win at home.
  12. Yep, I have heard from some we are a young team, true, but all the teams are young, a team can carry only 3 vets. Or we lost to the top 2 teams, why can't we be a top level team. A lesson should have been learned after the disaster last year.
  13. I expect another loss tomorrow, maybe some changes after that will help, I sure hope so, can't accept another disaster like last year. Coach must have exploded over the penalty call in OT that resulted in the game winning goal
  14. Had a 3 goal lead, comfortable for most team but not for us, gave up 2 to Peoria in just 34 seconds at the end of the second period, took another lead that did not last long, fell behind than tied it up near the end. Took a penalty in OT and yes hockey fans we lost again, so we gained a point, not a big deal when you let what should be a sure win just slip away, it really seems like last year, the team is getting almost identical results as last years team and that is just no good. It's early I know but if changes are needed I hope they don't wait too long like they did last year.
