  1. He was suspended by Norfolk, might have went home, heard he wasn't happy being called up and not playing as much, from what I understand talking with some Dawgs people is he wanted to be sent back down to Roanoke and for whatever reason Norfolk wouldn't release him so he left the team. I don't know if Roanoke can't take him back while being suspended in the ECHL I didn't think so but maybe as a courtesy Roanoke didn't let that be an option maybe to protect other players being able to be called up in the future.
  2. I see they waived Darius Cole as well.
  3. 8 Game Winning Streak!! Dawgs take over 7th Place got another crack at Mississippi tomorrow night another big game, Let's get 9 in a row!!
  4. He can play in Roanoke still, I think he probably wanted them to waive him but they wouldn't. I guess we will find out soon if he comes back to Roanoke which I think is very likely and why he was suspended.
  5. Exactly this team was already trending upward before that 10-0 loss in Knoxville, but since that time they have been playing at another level. I think that thumping got every player in Roanoke's attention that you have to come play every night in this league or you can get easily embarrassed.
  6. I can agree somewhat with that at the moment both our enforcers are in the ECHL, Beirnes has been up in Wheeling all year and Vandergunst has been in Norfolk since early December, while Roanoke isn't looking to fight, just about anyone on the team is willing to drop them if someone takes a cheap shot. Witzel took on Ryan Patsch(sp?) from Fayetteville the very next game and was giving up 4 inch's and and least 30 lbs for Patsch's cheap shot on Joe Sova the night before a couple of weeks ago and IMO won the fight. Witzel 1st fight of the year.
  7. That was a clean hit, I think that no Knoxville players going after Spraggs after the hit tells you they didn't think it was dirty either.
  8. I wasn't saying he was an ECHL or AHL caliber coach, but thats all he knew from his playing days, he seen those systems work at the level and tried to make it work in the SPHL and those skill players needed to run his system either are too good for the SPHL or if they fall through the cracks aren't here long.
  9. Don't get me wrong not a system I like to watch myself, but his system was built for ECHL AHL type players, we just didn't have the speed, passing skills and the size needed to play that way so it ended up being in a dump and chase system, his biggest flaw in Roanoke was he wouldn't or couldn't change the system to fit the skill he had on the team.
  10. To be honest I think whoever hires Sam next will get a better coach than he was in Roanoke, The Dawgs even though firing him told him they would continue to pay his salary for the remainder of the season. Sam was also spotted a few games watching from the stands once Bremner took over. My biggest take on why Sam didn't succeed in Roanoke was he was trying to run a certain system which is a good system but you don't have the players in the SPHL aren't as skilled to run that system. I think he would change some of systems to better fit the SPHL if he were to coach again. I would think before he got that shot again he would be an ECHL asst.coach for a couple of years before becoming a head coach again.
  11. Murry is probably the most skilled player on the roster, I was concerned with about the physical part but he is finishing checks on both ends of the ice. The 3 games I seen Vandergunst this year really impressed me with his footwork and skating and puck handling surprised me. With Knoxville last year he was nothing but a pure goon. Vandergunst and Murray are 2 players that are ECHL quality players just need to find the right time to stick with.
  12. I totally agree!!
  13. While Cole isn't really scoring a ton for us, he does bring aggressive play and is pretty good being where he is supposed to be disrupting rush's. Like Mueller's size but I don't know how well he is going to fit into Bremer's system yet. I would rather have had Vandergunst sent back down, I think Bremners style fits him perfectly.
  14. Wonder who is going to lose a roster spot if he comes back. Gonna have to trade or waive someone to have a spot for him. With the way the team has been playing the past 2 weeks, I can see them possibly trading Mueller for future considerations.
