  1. Needs to be some serious changes to the roster this week or the coach. I'll continue to support hockey in Roanoke because I missed it for 10 years, need to get this team going in the right direction before the 1st year and take advantage of their January and February home dates that are usually some of the highest attended games every year.
  2. The thing that killed me is even though it 2-2 after the 1st period, I thought we played pretty good, we looked lost and confused in the 2nd and 3rd period. I might have been wrong and Vandergunst, if he can keep from taking stupid penalties like he did with his former teams he just might be a good addition and not just for his fighting skills, he skates and moves a lot better than most of team, he's really the 1st player I have seen on the Dawgs that crashed the net. He was wide open in front of their goalie last night twice banging his stick for the puck the wings both time tried to pass the back back to the point and turned it over both times, that's the crap that needs to get fixed, they throw the puck at the net when nobody is there and then don't when they have people there. Frustrating to say the least hopefully they can steal a point tonight and get 2 on Saturday.
  3. Nice article indeed, told many people last year when we played against Sicard, that we needed a guy like him on the team, hell every team in the league needs a Sicard type, entertaining for sure.
  4. Great job Dawgs, what we have been looking for from this team. Deserved to win tonight, I thought Fayettevilles goalie made a couple of great saves that stopped us from winning the game, but loved seeing them play with heart and fire tonight.
  5. Radio feed said he was injured and didn't make the trip, said until more tests were done they didn't know exactly how serious the injury is and didn't say what the injury was.
  6. I like Barone and think he is a good goaltender, DeMelo has his nights but hasn't had much success during his time here. I think they were really depending on Reichenbach being here this year and being the #1 Goalie he ended up making the Norfolk Admirals team and is doing fairly well considering the team itself hasn't done so well. They talked about getting size which the team has gotten bigger, but Roanoke loves physical hockey and we are getting the opposite, you think they would have learned last year, we were a totally different team once we got Beirnes, I think that is part of the problem with this team too is him making the ECHL and sticking.
  7. Didn't see Lee up in the stands on Thanksgiving night for the 1st time, so don't know if that's a bad sign or not.
  8. Our best defensemen is unfortunately hurt, and you were the ones that traded him to us before the season started.
  9. We are happy that hockey is back in Roanoke, we just want it to stay here. Everyone here that has posted about the teams struggles this year will also be the 1st and biggest supporters as well if they can turn it around. If we start playing with fire and passion and lose the rest of our games I can live with that.
  10. Russell is my favorite player right now, he plays hard every shift, yes he has some things he can polish but I love the heart and hustle he shows every shift, that's the type of player that needs to be on the ice more. As for the others I will be honest I didn't catch the broadcast last night, but glad we got a much needed win!!

I have always supported the Dawgs, I don't think anybody on the boards or on Facebook want the team to not succeed, it's the exact opposite, we want the team to start playing better, we are already seeing the attendance decline, I have talked this team up to everyone I know the past 2 years hoping they would fall in love with Hockey the way I did back with the Virginia Lancers. Guess what the majority of them think it's boring as hell. There's rarely any fore-checking or any sense of urgency from our players most nights, I can't remember how many times teams have played in our zone for minutes at a time getting shot after shot because all we do is chase the puck around, the offense most nights is dump the puck and go get it, I keep hearing play the systems but I have rarely seen our systems work with any consistency since the team started last year. I gave them and the Coach a pass last year because it was a new franchise, but who brings back 75% of a team that wasn't very good last year? Our Coach that's who, yes we have gotten bigger but if we aren't using that size why did we get them? We get pushed around most nights and nobody on the team does a thing to stop it. We are already seeing the injuries again this year just like last year, if you play soft most nights these teams that are a lot more physical end up hurting our players. I have never asked that we become a goon team or even get a goon that does nothing but fight, I just want a team that acts like it wants to be out there giving their all every night, we don't see that a majority of nights with this team. Hopefully it changes soon, just because we see a team that doesn't look like it's improved much from last season doesn't make us FAKE FANS, it means exactly the opposite and we care and want to see this team do good and more and more people come to Berglund Center and get hooked on Hockey like the rest of do. You are always going to have 2,000 hard core fans in Roanoke but the team won't survive with only us, we need about another 1,000 to become hard-core fans like us and then get your 1,000-1,500 fans that want to come to 10-15 games a year.
  12. Obviously, there is a reason the coach is suspended.
  13. Thanks for clarifying must have had him confused with someone else, I remember reading something about why he was able to sign with Pensacola.
  14. Well THAT was fun

I keep hearing Lee is having VISA issue, I don't understand how that is still an issue over a month after he arrived. Should have used MasterCard!! LOL
  15. To be honest I doubt he comes to Roanoke, just what I was told when about Boyle so I assumed that applied to all SPHL players once the season started. I didn't see where Pensacola had given us anything for Boyle's rights. Sorry if I sounded like I knew for sure how the players rights thing works.
