  1. The Storm mascot better bring his/her game, then ...
  2. Rivermen Season Schedule now updated to include the December 15th game in Evansville. All is well.
  3. My wife got a call at home today from a Storm ticket sales guy, trying to sell us single-game tickets. So they're workin' the phones with the old sales lists to drum up business - even 4 hours away.
  4. For Magi, that would be Balthasar, Melchior, and Gaspar. Three very wise players with one sign(ing).
  5. I always thought it was called "Facelift."
  6. They oughta be pretty close, considering similar town & arena sizes plus the salary ranges/restrictions cited for LNAH players in this Allen Americans blog from 2013.
  7. With some thoughtful expansion drafting plus local recruitment, the Berlin team might-could easily comply with that rule. The town is less than a 90-minute drive south of the New Hampshire/Quebec border, so I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few hockey players in the area have some Quebec junior hockey experience. It's quite common for young players in our Northeast to cross the border - and vice versa - for opportunities to improve their level of competition and/or their chances for advancement in the game.
  8. Happy to see the fans in Berlin getting another shot at supporting a team, but the LNAH may just rival the FHL for organizational instability of late. According to a Google translation of this article on the League website, they just last month decided to move ahead with another season on the promise of Berlin joining the remaining 5 teams after a failed attempt to revive a franchise in Trois-Rivières. The League currently is searching for a new League commissioner. The LNAH hockeyDB profile shows several member cities whose teams have changed names multiple times, indicating changes in ownership for at least some of them (could be all). The owner, the CEO & the head coach of the current team in Laval finished serving 2-year suspensions last summer after a January 2015 pre-game brawl. So it may not be the annual show that the FHL presents to its fans, but the LNAH has certainly seen brighter days in its 14-year life.
  9. Reportedly the Growlers will pay the travel costs for visiting teams. If true, I'd be surprised if the Leafs organization isn't at least pitching in. Being the 2nd most valuable NHL team has its advantages.
  10. Solar Bears look to be stocking up on lower level players. They might have to fill their roster with such players this season, after the Leafs & Marlies affiliated with the new ECHL team in Newfoundland. That could be good for SPHL players looking to move up a level.
  11. Good price on their replica jerseys as well. Should we be expecting a new design/logo for 2018-19?
  12. Michael J. Fox played hockey, too.
  13. I just saw this tragic news on another hockey board. Too young, too much grief left behind.
  14. The judges will give you partial credit for that response, Mr. Mac. According to this Sperling's Best Places comparison, Elmira's housing costs are significantly lower than NYC as well as the nationwide average. The price of groceries is also lower by a substantial amount, but the other primary costs of living contributors are pretty even with Big Apple dwellers. Notice how high Utilities costs are for both cities vs. U.S. average - that's a large portion of income depletion anywhere in the Northeast.
