  5. And not all of those are home games of course. I thought it was understood that I was talking about home games. And Dog, if you wanted to see some bad hockey, you should have been here the last three years. The Devils made the playoffs one year so far and sucked so bad they were one and done. Even with them being terrible I still went. And you know very well I'm not even a Devils fan. So, I still paid more than you would to watch bad hockey at a higher league level. Yes, these guys are one step from the NHL, but at times they look like a high school team. BTW> We're on a losing streak right now.
  6. Who was this Greg Williams guy that was quoted in the article?
  7. Here in upstate NY, I get season tickets to the Albany Devils for $540 for 28 games. If my math is right that's around $19.30 per game. Center ice is even more. Parking is $8 or free on the street (where I park). If I'm correct I'm only going to miss 4 games this year. I can use the extra tickets as flex (good for any game), but I really don't need to. I normally end up giving them away to try and bring more people to the arena. This is the best year for the team. They're in second place and could actually go deep into the playoffs. With that said, we're still on the bottom of the league for attendance. The Devils signed up a one year extension. I'm hoping they'll stay longer as I love hockey too much to go without. Yes, I can still go to Glens Falls and see the ECHL, but it's over an hour away. I haven't been to a game up there since the Phantoms left. So, while I understand the complaints about ticket prices if you want hockey to continue you need to support the team. Otherwise you'll have nothing to watch except the occasional monster truck rally.
  8. Happy Birthday Parnelli!

  9. Weather? What did you get 2" of snow? We've had the 2nd coldest and one of the top snowiest months on record. We still have almost 2 feet on the ground and we're expecting 3 - 6" tomorrow.
  10. I like the idea of having it in or around where East Towne (Knoxville Center) or whatever they're calling it today. Plenty of FREE parking. We have a short season minor league baseball team in Troy and they have FREE parking. I always hated having to pay to park at le' colese'. That's why I parked on the bridge.
  11. Speedy; I distinctly remember someone saying or putting in print that there would be "no ice facilities" at the new Convention Center. The builders/planners didn't want a rink there. It was expressly forbidden. What about having another World's Fair? That worked real well for the RailYard. <Sarcasm intended>
  12. I'm going to chime in here and both Volstate and SpeedRacer can confirm the following. I was one of the loudest idiots in the building when I went to IceBears game. I was threatened to be escorted from the building four different times for being "too loud." The reason I sat (stood) up in Section P row 17, seat 5 was so I wouldn't be in front of anyone and my voice carried around the building. I asked the ticket office to warn people that I (we after a few game) got a little loud and if they didn't like that, they might want to sit somewhere else. Now on to the drum. The mascot for the Albany Devils Devil Dawg [sic] uses a Drum also. He stand at the top of the stairs near center ice. I've never heard or seen anyone get mad at him (it?). It gets the crowd chearing (and trust me, this is one of the quietest building's I've ever been in). Now if that person or persons have decided not to renew their season tickets due to this incident, I have to agree that a team needs STH more than it needs a mascot. On the other hand, a mascot can provide entertainment for the kids and us adults as well. How many times did we have fun with Chilly and his brother Nippy in Section P? I've lost count.
  13. Is that Satim, Sadam, or could it be.... SATIN? Where's the church lady when we need her?
  14. I'm still alive. The weather up here S U C K S. Cold, snow, rain, gross. The winter lasts 8 - 9 months. It's just horrible. Anyhow, I remember the "interview" of the pile. It was classic.
