  4. they should move to Little Rock. Would be good for all parties.
  5. that is what we really need to keep up with right now...
  6. If Volstate is on the BOG, then what does he think of this idea?!
  7. That's how I roll. As proven, I'm not good at math, but one simple equation is Gold Star + Moderator ribbon = Member of the year, means something to me. I think they will approve it this time. Necessary for sustained success within the league.
  8. Ticket to the Gold star...thanks. Fundraiser begins now... 0/100% ($0)
  9. whatever you get my point. 2+2=4, as confirmed by the league (first reported by SPHLForums.com) he had to do something right to earn that gold star...
  10. member of the month said it best!
  11. I had to think of a way to reduce the number of playoff teams in general while also basing it on conferences, because I don't like that only two teams miss out (always thought it should be more challenging by leaving out more); and I love the idea of conferences.
  12. Well, think about the wild card game in baseball. It increases the casual fans and media coverage, which also persuades diehard fans to show up for that one game. They would know the ratifications of that one game, thus leading to a more competitive atmosphere.
  13. That is what I thought I addressed in the playoffs format (as for level of difficulty): top 3 make it, 2 vs 3 one-game; winner of that plays the 1 (best-of-3); championship series (best-of-5). You would get "rewarded" for winning your conference (by NOT playing in the one-game playoff)--then the Coffey Trophy can still be awarded to the better of the two. And I understand the distribution point. But, do like they currently do with the schedule and play weekend series where you could "knock out two birds with one stone," per-say. That is the best way to handle distribution. (i.e. Evansville could play at Huntsville on Friday and at Pensacola or Mississippi on Saturday to avoid this.)
  14. The "Best-of-3" idea is okay; but there is four things that would happen as a result of the one-game playoff: 1. More people would come to a one-game playoff as opposed to a three-game series. 2. It would increase the competitiveness as opposed to a three-game series. 3. It prevents the travel that burns so many SPHL teams throughout the course of a year. 4. It gives the one-seed an advantage as well because of the travel and the rest the winner of the 2 seed/3 seed game would get as opposed to a three-game series (i.e. if they played the game on Friday, then the series should start on Sunday to give the one-seed an advantage). Yes, I can understand where you disagree, but if the league wants to profit being competitive, then this is the right route to take.
