  2. There were more than 300 people in attendance, but there weren't 1,071 there either. Peoria did seem to have a case of bad bus legs but came alive in 3rd period. Even though coach doesn't like physical play, I'm glad the players did finally get chippy and give the fans some excitement.
  3. Rivermen power play was weak and they had trouble staying on their skates. Peoria just doesn't seem as good as their record shows. Physicality in third period was good. Fans enjoyed it even though there weren't that many in attendance to see it. Kielich is good! Kelley had a stellar night! Nice win.
  4. Announced on Facebook yesterday. In his 20th year with Fayetteville hockey, "Iceman" has hung up his t-shirt slingshot and parked his golf cart. Sad for Fayetteville fans at the Crown. He was a vital asset to the entertainment experience and fan interaction. So much dedication and loyalty. You will be missed Iceman! Hope to see you in the stands soon.
  5. Seven pro games and retires? Wish him the best in school and his career.
  6. With Mazurek called up, Derek Brown could be taken off suspension. That is if he was placed there to stay within 19-man roster limitations. Or Casale could come off IR. We will just have to wait and see since we are all just arm chair quarterbacks here. Wishing Mazurek all the best in Atlanta - with former Fayetteville goalie Sean Bonar. Next call ups will probably be McCormick, Jeke, or Hauswirth.
  7. And get a rookie defenseman in here with zero points while trading away one with 6 points.
  8. Welcome two more rookies to the team. Wish them all the best.
  9. FireAntz era = Papa John's pizza. Marksmen era = Fazoli's. At least it's something to eat.
  10. Officials here get some food provided by local restaurant.
  11. Off ice officials here have stated they have always worked solely on a volunteer basis. They "report" to the SPHL, but at not "employed" by them or the hockey team.
  12. P.O. you are correct. The uncredited assist for Osaka is supposed to be corrected.
  13. Maybe the "necessary roster change" that needs to happen is replacing Kallechy with Worrell. Now is better than later.
  14. Your two cents is worth its weight in gold. Don't blame the players when you leave holes in the defense. Just saying.
  15. Knoxville definitely made the changes necessary from last weekend when they were here. Totally different style of play tonight. Fans loved the physical play when it was there.
  16. Since the enforcer and fan favorite that did all the protecting last year wasn't protected (and is still in the ECHL), seems at least someone else would be physical. But...when the coach doesn't WANT physical play, you see what you get.
  17. Kacerosky scored again for QC last night. Meanwhile, Marksmen are playing with four defensemen.
  18. There were technical difficulties with Knoxville broadcast last night at beginning of game, but it got worked out. Noticed that Shawn Bednard didn't have a play by play broadcast option with the game. Also, no audio from last night is archived on MarksmenRadio.com today. Did anyone listen to the MarksmenRadio.com last night? Was it available?
  19. Roanoke has #2 power play in the league? Hard to believe watching the game tonight as Dawgs go 0-3 on PP in 1st period. Even had a 5 on 3 for 50 seconds.
  20. Lots of job and intern opportunities listed online in the last 24 hours: Game Operations and Promotions Coordinator Manager of Corporate Partnerships Front Office Internship Director of Ticket Sales Digital Marketing/Brand Manager Group Sales Account Executive Corporate Partnership Services Intern Box Office Intern
  21. Right! However, some current staff already have some of these job titles...so.....????
  22. A closer connection to the fans would certainly help boost loyalty to the brand and hockey in general. Sad that there seems to be a "disconnect" there. As evidenced at a couple of restaurant events. Fayetteville people are quirky. We need that personal connection. We need that southern hospitality and "uber-friendliness" to feel a part of it all. It is just a special brand of people. Treat us right and we'll follow you to the ends of the earth.
  23. Who said anything about personal vendettas or getting feelings hurt as the reason for not renewing as a STH? Each person has their own reason for showing their support at whatever level they show it. For hockey or any other event in Fayetteville. To each his own. Obviously as the game DJ, you feel a lot has improved. I agree in some areas. The music is FAR better! The Jumbotron and videos are incredible! Instant replay is valuable! The tenacity and level of play is much better. Admission is pretty good. Merchandise display and staff is a big improvement. The areas that need improvements (IMO) are: on ice promos (boring), player introductions (LAME, need fog and lights), goal celebrations (fog from ceiling or something else), bring back Iceman slinging shirts from golf cart, advertising other than social media, more player meet and greets and away game viewing at FAMILY FRIENDLY VENUES, and show more appreciation and respect to loyal fans. Don't throw the flaming arrows or pitchforks at me please. Just stating my opinion which I believe we all are allowed to do here.
