  1. I'm not apologizing for anything I said, this team was going through the motions and had no fire about them. I'm glad we got 6 points but I'm still not convinced this team plays past the first round.
  2. Maybe true but Arena football is still a crappy product
  3. Need a regulation win tonight and a 2 point minimum next weekend. Hopefully Birmingham will lay down a bit next week if they already got the 2 seed wrapped up.
  4. Roanoke needs to part ways with this immediately, this looks very poorly put together, unorganized and honestly has zero hope for success. Reminds me of the NAHL thing that guy tried to put here a while back.
  5. The AFL was nice for the first couple of years, when it was in Roanoke it had my interest briefly but it then became more of a gimmick than a game. I do not want Arena Football in Roanoke, period. We have 2 successful minor league teams, the Red Sox and the Dawgs which covers the majority of the year. We do not need anything else to water down the market, Minor League basketball and Minor League football are terrible products.
  6. Spring football leagues and arena leagues will never succeed. When the super bowl is over your average football fan is ready for a break. They're not going to turn it on some 2nd rate league to see a washed up college player who's 50 lbs overweight.
  7. I still don't think this team makes it out of the first round, would just be nice to not have to play Peoria
  8. Well, I was wrong Roanoke will not go pointless in their final home stretch. Next weekend is shaping up to be a big one, if Roanoke can find a way to take all 4 points then there could be a little light at the end of the tunnel.
  9. The Marksmen have lived rent free in Roanokes head all year, I don't expect that to change tonight
  10. This team is just done, they've cashed it in and have mentally checked out. There was no energy what so ever tonight and physicality was absent. On another note Porter, the Knoxville goalie is a punk and a clown.
  11. Going to Prison should be on everyone's Bucket List.
  12. So I'm bumping this thread again, it seems the league has pushed the season back to May. It was originally supposed to open up next week, my money still says this crap goes up in flames before it ever gets off the ground.
  13. We will be there but I'll pass on the car picture, however the kiddos are excited about free hat night. I can I just say to everyone looking on, please don't take my negativity towards the team as being ungrateful or disrespectful. I am extremely grateful for the McGinn family and their efforts here in Roanoke. I'm just frustrated they haven't found success on the ice yet, I want that for them and this community.
  14. " I'm too drunk to taste this chicken " Colonel Sanders
  15. I will say the media and write ups are pretty vague and bare however Brian ( who writes those I believe ) may be handcuffed by management or ownership. If you go back to August I believe McGinn gave an interview where he said they didn't release things on purpose sometimes to keep everyone guessing. Like Cody Dion for example had been signed in May and I don't think they announced that until August.
  16. If you listen to Greg Roberts Live on Wednesday, starting at 6pm of WFIR you get a full 30-45 minutes of Dawg stuff with Mele, Murray and Dion. They do touch on call ups, trades and cuts. You can go back to Greg's past shows to get caught up although with the team being on the road for the last month there hasn't been anyone in studio to discuss.
  17. Why is that an overreaction? Ice Bears have won 7 of their last 10, including 4 games against Peoria. Fayetteville, while struggling lately has owned Roanoke this season. Then Pensacola comes to town winning 8 of their last 10 and they're getting hot at the right time. Now let's get to Roanoke who has been up and down all year, even at their best they've struggled to put together a full game. This team does not like to play physical and I don't understand because this was supposed to be Bremner's wheel house but I guess that was a bad assumption on my part. Again, if you want a team for comparison I would suggest using Birmingham. They're in year 2 and are in great shape for the playoffs while Roanoke is in year 3 with Peoria already preparing for the 2nd round.
  18. I just have the feeling they're done for the year and we will see little effort moving forward.
  19. That's setting a really low bar, take a look at Birmingham for comparison.
  20. I don't think being home is going to help, if I were betting on it I would say Roanoke goes pointless in its final 4 at home. Roanoke had it relatively easy on the road with minimal sleeping on the bus. I just think this team is done playing, I think there are a few older guys starting to turn their attention to life after hockey. We will see but it doesn't look promising....
  21. Guess this thread stayed silent because there's not a lot to say about this piss poor road trip. 5-0, this team seems like it's in cruise mode. Going through the motions, waiting for April to come around to jet town. Last year's 2nd half team would beat this team 9 out of 10 times simply because this team is afraid to get it's hands dirty and play physical. This is not the type of team that will keep hockey in Roanoke, there is no blue collar mentality on this team. Coffee, Wine, Cheese and the Bachelor I'm glad they have fun off the ice because on the ice the only fun had is by opposing teams.
