I'm from the Biloxi area.. we may soon have a team again as there are a couple of groups trying to bring it back to the coast but I've seen a couple people write about how fans in Roanoke dislike the name. When the Huntsville Stars moved down here to Biloxi last year..you couldn't go online without reading someone talk about how stupid the Biloxi Shuckers name was. However, when you go to games.. there is not one kid without a Shuckers t-shirt, or hat... It's good to market teams towards future generations...so I assume that's why they went with the cartoony design. It's good to have a logo/brand that kids will look at and think it's cool, but also grimacing enough for adults to think its cool too.. The name though doesn't matter as much honestly..you'll call them the Dawgs anyway
I've worked through the pointstreak website before. Roanoke accidently hit publish on a couple of their sub-links. There is an option to make a page private, which they are now..until 6 pm I guess. It wasn't a mistake from the league though. They probably have access to edit the pointstreak site.. there was a dude from the Pensacola staff who's email was listed as someone who could login and modify the Surge website. I don't think he ever did though. It was probably a mistake by the Roanoke team. As for the name, it's too long..I hope they shorten the name.
