  1. Reliable source says Kings may have a new owner and coach for 2019-2020
  2. Thanks for the encouragement JMC-STL, when you have nothing, anything sounds pretty good.
  3. Hate to see us lose hockey in this area. Have been a season ticket holder since they came to the Desoto Civic Center which is now the Landers Center. I don't believe coming to Mississippi had anything to do with the team suspending operations. The Landers Center is 10 minutes from the State line. Our owner is completely to blame for this. This is the second time the organization and fans have been thrown under the bus by the owner. You could almost see it coming regardless of the Memphis Hustle that is now playing there. It is my understanding that their support is worse than the Kings. We have had a owner who has been completely missing in action. No additional financial support and no marketing or media to let the area know what is going on with the Riverkings. In the past we have had many problems in the front office, when the owner should have stepped up and resolved them. We had a good group this past year in the front. The only complaint I could mention is they were a young inexperienced group that were left to handle it by themselves. No experienced leadership to help. I hope a new owner that is willing to put forth a little effort will come up and rescue the team but I have my doubts. This area has already proved there is a hockey market here. I have been to games in the past with 5,000 to 6,000 in attendance. Another failure on the owners part is we have been in the SPHL for 7 or 8 yrs now I think. Our coach is the only one we ever had. We are consistently a .500 team by the end of the year and always barely get in the play offs. We are normally beat in the first round consistently. Should we have had a change in our coaching staff?
  4. Losing is not an option.' Penny Hardaway era begins for Memphis basketball
  5. Will the Kings make it this year?
  6. We are down to 16 players, due to call ups. That includes one player off on injured reserve, which does not count, so that would be a total of 15. Why have we not signed any new players this week?
  7. Four more call ups this week and a fifth to IR
  8. Any reason to think outcome for 2-3 and 2-6 will be any different than 2-2.
  9. I agree TJ, do you wait for this group to step up or shuffle the deck to try and improve. I think Green has been improving but every once in a while any goalie can have a bad game. I would like to see our defense help him out more, forwards and defensemen. We absolutely have to have people to put the puck in the net or all the defense and good goal tending makes no difference. Hopefully this group will improve if Derrick is not going to make any changes and peak at playoff time.
  10. 8 years in SPHL standings 2011-2012 .473 pct, playoffs 1 and 2 2012-2013 .500 pct, playoffs 1 and 2 2013-2014 .589 pct, playoffs 1 and 2 2014-2015 .607 pct, playoffs 2 and 3 2015-2016 .589 pct, playoffs 2 and 2 2016-2017 .598 pct, playoffs 1 and 2 2017-2018 .485 pct. so far It is pretty obvious how this year will turn out if history repeats itself. What is it going to take for the Kings to go all the way?
  11. Good weekend Kings, 4 out of 4 points. Playing hockey this year with a don't give up attitude.
