  1. One of the most exciting games of the season. The guys did a great job of actually playing the puck into the offensive zone instead of just dumping it deep from behind the blue line. I think the only weak point of play was a couple of penalty kills. Most importantly they added some space between themselves and the Cottonmouths and got the win against the Havoc, leaving Peoria as the only team we have yet to post a W against.
  2. Really struggling to figure these moves out, both of these guys are solid players and now unless there are guys signed that haven't been disclosed yet we will be shorthanded for this weekend's games.
  3. I believe Travis Jeke has cleared waivers so he should be reporting soon.
  4. Never thought I would ever see Inferno quoted in a minor league hockey forum.
  5. One of the biggest issues I saw this weekend, not the only issue by any means, was we consistently allowed Peoria players camp out right in front of the crease. I thought they had solved that issue but it came back with a vengeance this past weekend, and Peoria did a better job of exploiting it than any other team I can remember. It would be interesting to see how many of their 15 goals came as a result of 2nd or even 3rd attempts off of short rebounds.
  6. I think the writer misspoke, I believe what he meant was it would lock you guys in, not lock us out.
  7. I understand where you guys are coming from, and that very well may be the reason he hasn't moved up. I just don't think he would be sitting the bench in the ECHL. That being said, I also hope he hangs around in the SPHL, having players capable of the level of play he gives is good for the entire league.
  8. I don't buy that, we had Brandon Anderson called up to Norfolk and he has by no means been "riding the pine". He has tallied 1137 minutes of playing time, pretty much splitting starting duties. Bonar, I believe is every bit as good a net minder as Anderson.
  9. As another Roanoke fan, who has personally experienced the hospitality of the Fayetteville fan base, I whole heartedly second everything Roanokehockey said. I look forward to visiting the ant hill several times next season. Best of luck to you guys the rest of the season, I will be rooting for you guys, unless of course we somehow meet up in the post season.
  10. I bought a 10 game package, even if they credit my account for the game. We only have 9 away games left.
  11. Note to self, next time wait for the feed to be live before paying to stream the game.
  12. Wish I could make the trip for this one, I had a blast down there last time out, unfortunately 4 hours each way is a bit much on a Tuesday night.
  13. I really am not sure how I feel about this move. The two are fairly even on paper, I would even argue that Spraggs may have a bit of an edge. But numbers on paper do not necessarily reflect player personality, and Massimo I think brings more to the team than what the stats reflect.
  14. Our Dawgs have a lot to be proud of this weekend. With the exception of Kruger's costly mistake on Friday, they played two really good games. If they can keep up this level of play down the stretch I believe we will definitely have a few extra games to watch after April 8th. I am definitely glad to hear I am not the only who mumbled, or maybe yelled, some not so flattering things at Kruger when he got cought out of position on Friday. Both of our net minders have, what I consider to be, a bad habit of being too quick to chase pucks outside the crease. De Melo actually got cought on one against Fayetteville as well, but luckily the goal was waived off for interference. Another thing I liked from last nights game was when Barr tried to get Beirnes to go and he didn't take the bait, it's nice to know that we have an enforcer who isn't going to drop gloves unless it is necessary.
  15. Greg, If you are on your phone when the screen goes dark you have to swipe left to bring over the drop down menu to get to your inbox. Not sure if that is what you have going on or not, but I know it confused the heck out of me when I first started on here.
  16. Columbus and Evansville have games Monday and Tuesday respectively and since we have played 2 more games than Columbus, the Dawgs could possibly drop to 9th and only be 4 points ahead of Evansville by the time we take the ice for our next game on Friday. This weekend really hurt us in the playoff picture.
  17. Mele was just officially removed from IR so we hopefully will be seeing him on the ice tonight.
  18. I spoke to Mele after Sundays game and he all but said he would be on the ice for this weekends games.
  19. I can not wrap my head around a move like this. I can understand the frustration, going from league champs to a .500 record but to install a new coach down the stretch with the team still solidly in the playoff hunt seems absolutely insane to me. Unless the new coach doesn't change the system much, the growing pains of trying to get the team to learn his system could drop the team right out of the hunt, and if he doesn't change the system why bother changing coaches now.
  20. In that case in both of his fights they got right down to business, no real posturing beforehand. Both were straight off of the face off.
  21. I believe it was about 18 seconds before he dropped the gloves the first time.
  22. You guys played an amazing game, I also would like to thank everyone in attendance for their hospitality Friday night, when I headed to the arena in my Dawgs gear I figured things were going to go one of two ways and I can honestly say I felt more welcome than I could have imagined.
  23. The wife and I will be making the trip tomorrow as well, also my first time traveling to watch our Dawgs play.
  24. That gives us officially 18 active skaters, leaving two to not suit up tonight. One of them being Gintoli I am sure, but I wonder which other player will not be playing tonight? This is quite an unusual situation for US, we are usually short handed.
  25. I think you are right, I believe that is Tatrn. And I think the one I initially asked about is the trainer Travis Johns.
