  1. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but 5600 would mean every seat in the bottom bowl (100's) is filled plus overflow into the 200 sections. That was most definitely not the case. I would estimate the total butts-in-seats at around 2500. Still not bad for an AM game.
  2. I get that you were wronged by the new management, and I really liked what you did while you worked with the team, but it's time to let it go. The ongoing bile you're throwing at the team, the ownership and the league is NOT well received. There are still hockey fans in Fayetteville and we're hoping the ownership can turn it around. If you want to go to a 'Canes game, that's fine, but dropping by to sh** on the Marksmen fans is awfully petty.
  3. That is curious. I thought he did pretty good for us, and he spent a bit of time in the ECHL. Have to wonder if he's in FHL by choice?
  4. I heard somewhere that the bottom bowl holds 5700-6000 seats, so we were close to selling that out. If they remove the tarps from the top tier then it close to 10k. I can only remember a couple games where they did that, those were the old military appreciation nights and I think the local contractor companies bought a LOT of those tickets and gave them away to soldiers.
  5. I couldn't watch the game live but was following on Pointstreak. Were SOG really that lop-sided or was there some stats-keeper error?
  6. I didn't watch the game, but I'm reading the stats - did they put Perry in for the worst part of the game then pull him back out? Stats show he gave up 3 goals in 8+ minutes, but only 1 was scored by Birmingham in the last 8 minutes. So they pulled Kelly, gave up 3, then put him back in?? Pretty unusual, isn't it?
  7. I really didn't like that quote the coach gave the Fay Observer about volunteers making mistakes. First of all, some of those volunteers have been doing it for 10+ years and know when a puck crosses a line. Second, the final decision goes to the ref, who consulted with the goal judge and linesmen. So, to say, basically, "I think that wan't a goal but the free help screwed up" is rather petty.
  8. I'm curious to know if any players have passed through Fayetteville on their way up the ranks to play with the big boys. The online research for such a question gets a bit tedious, and I'm no THAT curious, but I know there are some die-hards out there that have been watching since the Force days and can maybe help me out.
  9. Looks like Osaka is becoming quite the brawler, with a 5 min Fighting penalty. And that's not the first penalty he's taken with the Marksmen for aggressive behavior.
  10. Better get the new backup goalie warmed up, seems the ECHL is watching.
  11. Looks like McNeil is going back to Knoxville, and Drobot is going with. Marksmen staff seem to be keeping quiet about it though. http://www.knoxvilleicebears.com/news/?article_id=189 http://www.knoxvilleicebears.com/news/team-news/?article_id=185
  12. This is the Junior Hockey team from Kearney, NE, where I grew up. They do alright, but hopefully the boys from Moline will put on a better show.
  13. Good point, I didn't think about doing an extended road trip around the area, I guess we'll wait and see when the schedule is released.
  14. Thanks for the info, I guess I didn't realize there was a hole there. I used to live in Nebraska and Kansas and remember a lot of hockey choices, but I guess those are mostly college and Junior league teams.
