  1. I was curious what everyone's opinion is on our merchandise. I liked the red alternate jerseys when they introduced them, but it seems like our merchandise is leaning toward using red more and more. It is weird to me since red isn't a primary color of ours, only an accent color. If we want to go to a primary red, white, and blue look, then lets do it. I think it could look really cool. Lets redesign that logo and jerseys. If not then lets try to keep it to blue and gold. I just think the merchandise looks like it lacks a unified direction especially in the color scheme department. I looked at the Marksmen's online store and all of their stuff seems unified and consistent in a way that ours doesn't.
  2. Has anyone heard anything about Carbonara? I thought he really added a spark to the team late last year and was hoping to see him return this season.
  3. In the latest episode of the "Inside the SPHL" podcast from The Sin Bin, they suggested some names for the various rivalries throughout the league. For the Roanoke/Fayetteville series they suggested "The South's Coldest Rivalry" playing off of the UVA vs UNC rivalry. I don't hate the name but I feel like we can do better! It would be cool to come up with something that wasn't a play off of an existing rivalry. I heard that the Quad City and Peoria series has been dubbed "The Cold War on 74".
  4. I always enjoy reading these. I am excited to see what jersey won the fan vote. I really liked the yellow one. I am glad we are back to wearing the white and blue ones this season. The red is a nice change but I grew to miss the others last season. Hope the crowd comes out again for the game against Fayetteville of Friday. We had a good energy in the crowd last Saturday and I think we had one of the loudest fan started cheers I have heard since I started going to the games. Go Dawgs!
  5. What an exciting game! I was really proud of the team fighting back from two down. Guyon out skated the whole Knoxville team a couple times! That was exciting, too bad he didn't get any goals out of it. I really liked the effort that some of the new guys had too. I am pretty happy with the team right now. I am still new to hockey. I pretty much only watch the Dawgs and keep up with the SPHL. I haven't latched onto an NHL team yet. I love the game though, so that is only a matter of time. There is one thing that has troubled me since Bremner took over though. It seems like we don't perform well on power plays. Knoxville looked very composed and in control on their power plays, where as we just seem to be scrambling around. It seems like Ftorek had the team better prepared for power plays. I hope they can get that sorted out. I noticed the new scoreboard look too. I like it a lot better than last year. I have wondered why they don't use that small scoreboard they installed late last year as well? I would think it would be easier for the players to look at that one to see the time rather than look way up at the one above the ice. I can't wait to get back to the Berglund Center Friday and watch them take on Fayetteville!
  6. I saw that the Rail Yard Dawgs posted on their "SPHL Challenge Round Selection Show" event in Facebook yesterday. Part of the post said "Keep your eye pealed for details on playoff tickets tomorrow!" So it would seem like they have worked something out with Liberty and we should here something about it today (April 3rd).
