  1. I was thinking of pat ferschweiler who is an assistant coach for the Red Wings.
  2. That makes two former people associated with the Express that are now some sort of NHL coach, right?
  3. Fun fact: the Utah Grizzlies is the same franchise that is the same franchise and Roanoke Rampage, Rebels and Lancers.
  4. Hopefully Adams stays in the ECHL and takes dumb penalties up there instead.
  5. I don’t think losing Mueller was that big of a deal. He may be leading Quad City with 8 points but Roanoke has at least four players with more points. At the time the move made sense because Porter was a good physical player and I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted that he was going to hang it up. I think the team currently has a lot of good players but they’re having trouble finding a rythem. I really like the Fox,Witzel, Jones line. I’d like to see them get some more time on the ice.
  6. Does anyone think that the Dawgs were overhyped but the owners and fans coming into this season? I feel like many people expected Roanoke to be a top 3 team but now people are disappointed that they are not. I don’t think Roanoke is any worse than they have ever been but they’re not better either. They’re about the same as they were last season when Bremner took over. They need something to light a fire under them. Stringing together a few wins would certainly help. I will say that probably the best new player is Economos. He may not score a lot but he gets the crowd back into the games, sticks up for teammates and himself and he plays hard all game.
  7. As others have said, the team is lacking discipline. I thought Bremner was a no nonsense guy that holds players accountable? I hope he let them have it in the locker room. There’s no need to take stupid penalties when you’re down a few goals. I know he can right the ship but he needs to sooner rather than later.
  8. That was a tough one, I think the team was really tired from 3 games in 3 days and traveling back and forth. At least they tried to come back at the end. How about the dissallowed goal? From my angle I’d say there was a kicking motion but I don’t think it was intentional it seemed to be more of a deflection if anything.
  9. It’s still too early in the season to worry but if the season was almost over the Dawgs would have a shot at the playoffs.
  10. I get that there are a lot of Capitals fans in the area and they’re excited that the team one the cup but why doesn’t the team do a Hurricanes night and get Brock and some of the Hurricanes players to come up and sign autographs and drop the puck? I guess it’s because more people like the Capitals instead of the Hurricanes but Raleigh closer to Roanoke and the Dawgs have a connection since one of the owners plays for the Hurricanes. Obviously, I really don’t care either way since I like the Canucks but it’s just a thought I had.
  11. Oh I know you weren’t complaining. I just saw some people complaining on social media.
  12. I know a lot of people have been complaining about the team lately but I still think they’re 100x better than what we have been used to seeing. Of course, they have things to improve but at least they are competitive and generally are capable of winning every game they play. I remember the first two seasons I would go to games wondering if the team would even score a goal and in a lot of cases there were long stretches of not winning or scoring. I’m glad that this team has improved.
