  1. I am not a Caps fan (obviously) but I don’t hate them or anything. However, I don’t know if that’s the best promo. I feel like it alienated non-Caps fans. I get that they’re cashing in on the popularity of a team winning the cup and they’re close by so there’s a lot of fans but I feel like I see other NHL jerseys at Dawgs games just as much as Caps jerseys.
  2. I like the design overall. The train track striping is a nice subtle touch. I’m not crazy about the “RYD” on the front but I’m glad you did something other than a diagonal “Roanoke” across the chest. I’m also glad you stayed away from putting “Dawgs” on it. I think a star patch on both shoulders would also look a little better and maybe take the yellow out. As I said, great job! I don’t have the ability to make one but I wish I could!
  3. I’d like to see a jersey with the shoulder patch (the star with Roanoke in front) as the primary logo.
  4. Isn’t the game that will feature the jersey be in October? What about a Halloween or fall jersey? I love Roanoke hockey history but I’d rather see a unique jersey for the Dawgs rather than a throwback. Save that for a night where the past teams can be celebrated.
  5. Also, why did the Roanoke Steam fail?
  6. Fingers crossed that the Roanoke RiverDawgs/Wrath will be making a return as well.
  7. Go ahead and add arena football to the list of scheduling conflicts for the Dawgs.
  8. Oh I know and I’m thankful for that, haha. I will say that one positive of playing Fayetteville a lot is the opportunity to drive down and see the Dawgs play at the Crown. I went to a game last year and had a great time. You all do a great job of keeping the crowd entertained and everyone was very nice!
  9. Glad he’s getting a shot in the ECHL but hate that he might not be playing for Roanoke this season. Do you think he will be there long term if he makes the team? I think his size gives him a disadvantage even though he is very skilled.
  10. I know it has a lot to do with reducing travel and money spent on travel but I’m tired of Roanoke playing Fayetteville what feels like every game.
  11. Here is one of several programs I have scanned. https://drive.google.com/open?id=12Q6IY_9tW2SYeAdEv7-Y-M4-XcDOY-DU The Express programs are the exact same other than the roster pages and cover. So I scanned one complete program and then just did the roster pages and front cover for the others.
  12. I purchased a few VHS tapes of old Roanoke Express games recently and will be converting them to a digital copy onto my computer. I will upload them to youtube once I do that. I previously commented on a post about programs. I am also in the process of scanning some as well. Are there any other pieces of Roanoke hockey history anyone can think to preserve?
  13. Lets start a campaign to get Dion in Roanoke.
  14. This isn't one that I converted but another guy on YouTube uploaded a few videos. Most of his are Toledo game but there are a few Express games.
  15. I agree that Roanoke needs some grit and players that will stick up for the team. I'd love to see Sicard on the team but I think his career may be over. Dion would be a good choice as well! Towards the end of the season I saw a little bit more fight in Roanoke but they still need a guy who will fight!
  16. Wow, didn't know he had nagging injuries most of last season. I have even more respect for Gandara now because he played a very physical game last year! I'll miss having him in Roanoke. Funny story: I talked to him a few times after games and whatnot and he would often recognize me and say "Oh yeah! You're that Canucks guy!" This was said even when I was not wearing a Canucks jersey, haha!
  17. I heard that Greg Roberts reported that Gandara retired.
  18. I still thought Porter was a better player overall but we will have to agree to disagree! Wasn’t there an issue with Mueller in Fayetteville? I don’t know if he’s the best guy to have in the locker room.
  19. You're right, Porter was very fast for a big dude! Didn't Mueller stop playing too?
  20. I had forgotten about Gustaffson and Love. I wonder if they decided to stop playing or something? Even though Rowland did not play a lot last year but I really liked what I saw from him. I think he could possibly be the new Schneider. He's aggressive and isn't afraid to get in the middle of things and chirp a bit.
  21. http://railyarddawgs.pointstreaksites.com/view/roanokerailyarddawgs/news-1147/news_503904 Very good list. Would've liked to see Gandara on the list, even though he is small I really liked his aggressive play after Bremner took over but I guess since Witzel and Guyon on the list you don't want a bunch of small players. Either way, good job Dawgs on a great list.
  22. Quad City Quadrilaterals.
  23. I only have a few game worn jerseys. The majority of mine are replicas. I love seaarching eBay for some unique jerseys.
