    I think he was injured n the last Fayetteville game after being run into by a Fayetteville player.
  4. Rumor has it he's taking a leave.... cause he's having a kid. I guess this was the only way to do it so we don't lose his rights. Othewise we'd have to waive him and chances are another team would claim him

    His injury is long term, no sense in keeping him on the roster. If he has indeed retired that's probably the reason why.

Recommendation Concerning the Amendment to the SMG Management Services Agreement for the Pensacola Bay Center - Amy Lovoy, Interim Assistant County Administrator That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the Amendment to the Management Services Agreement between Escambia County, Florida, and SMG for the Pensacola Bay Center (formerly Pensacola Civic Center), with the Management Services Agreement amended as follows: A. Changing the effective end date of the Agreement to September 30, 2022; B. Accepting a straight-line, non-cash, amortized, 7-year loan contribution for facility and operational enhancement, in the amount of $350,000, from SMG to Escambia County; and C. Allowing for the negotiation of an adjusted benchmark used to determine the SMG annual incentive fee in the event of an increase to net operating loss, due to the Pensacola Bay Center Ice Hockey Lease between Escambia County, Florida, and Pensacola Ice Flyers.   9. This may have something to do with it... PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Flyers have signed defenseman Jarrett Rush; release Malcolm Lyles. The 6'5, 233-lb native of New Jersey finished the 2013-14 season with the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings following his 49-game season as captain for the Peoria Riverman of the SPHL. His experience spreads across the ECHL with a total of 103 games played including 13 Kelly Cup playoff appearances.

  11. PENSACOLA, FL. (September 11, 2014) - Goalie Max Strang joins the back-to-back SPHL champions and 2013-14 regular season champions, Pensacola Ice Flyers, for the 2014-15 season. "I'm very excited to be joining the Pensacola Ice Flyers and look forward to carrying on the organization's reputation for success, professionalism and community involvement," Strang stated. "I noticed Max the first day of camp in Fort Wayne last season and I knew that he would be one of the best goalies in the SPHL if things didn't work out for him there," Head Coach Rod Aldoff said. "Max had a great year last season and I'm excited to have him coming to Pensacola." The 6'2" 209-lb Gilbertsville, PA native joins the Ice Flyers after completing the 2013-14 season with the Bloomington Thunder of the SPHL. He registered a 3.34 goals against average with .909 save percentage in his 23 games played with the Thunder. He was also recognized as a SPHL Player of the Week during the months of November and December. "Max is not only a tremendous goalie, but a great professional. His former coaches only have great things to say about his play and his attitude toward his team and the game of hockey," Aldoff commented. Strang was called up on separate occasions to the Ft. Wayne Komets and South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. He had a 3.40 GAA with a .869 SV% in four Komets appearances and a 2.83 GAA with a .895 SV% in seven games with the Stingrays. He played NCAA Division I college hockey with Mercyhurst University. His junior season, Strang appeared in 34 games and had a 2.68 GAA and a .927 SV%, while in 27 games in his senior year, he had a 2.59 GAA and a .921 SV%. He was also a part of the 2006-07 USHL Clark Cup Champion Sioux Falls Stampede. "Every player wants to win a championship and I believe that Pensacola is the best place to do so," Strang added.

  14. Gates re-signs with Ice Flyers, Whitely returns PENSACOLA, FL. (March 12, 2014) - The Pensacola Ice Flyers have re-signed defenseman Jeremy Gates, a key member of the team's 2013 SPHL President's Cup Championship team. Defenseman Steve Whitely has also returned to the team after having been loaned to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads. Gates, a 6' 2", 210 lbs. native of Jackson, Michigan; joins the Ice Flyers after beginning the season with the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets. In 31 games played this season, Gates had 6 points (1 g, 5 a) and 31 penalty minutes. Whitely is a native of Petrolia, Ontario who stands 6' 5" and weighs 210 lbs. He is returning from the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads whom he was loaned to on Jan. 7. Whitely appeared in 18 games for the Steelheads and had zero points and 11 penalty minutes. Defenseman Kyle Frieday has been waived.
