FHL's Future Unclear?

Is this unusual for the FHL ?

There is very little with the FHL that warrants an "unusual" label, but the North Shore Knights' abysmal home attendance numbers might come pretty close.  So those two games being moved to Winston-Salem may just be the right move for all parties concerned.  That, or it's the first step in the Knights merging with the Thunderbirds.  Intra-squad games, anyone?

Just saw this picture of the attendance in the FHL shared on FB......

This is odd. No more games played for North Shore from when this was posted on Monday until today.. But the Average and Total numbers took a significant jump. Fudged stats anyone?

I see the problem, Mac.  In the attendance listing you posted, they mistakenly inserted an "F" in "HOCKEY SHIFT" ... :crap:

Glad to see the GDOOTF guy hasn't lost his passion.

And for hockey fans who think their home team is performing badly, just be happy you're not one of the few dozen fans of the FHL's North Shore Knights ...

I think the "47" average fans are the team, game staff, off/on-ice officials, zamboni driver, First Aid paramedics, Police officer for security, and the guy who manages the building...

No, the stats aren't fudged.  In most cases, the box scores are posted before the attendance is posted with the box score.  So you'll see the home games played increase, but the cumulative total stays, dropping the average.  Winston-Salem had a near sellout the other night, it wasn't reported in the box score for 4 days, so it showed out home average attendance drop around 475 people per game.

Just a friendly update...

Cornwall still has their coach.

Winston-Salem's ice problems were an arena problem.

Port Huron/North Shore was rescheduled due to a power outage in the area.

These Dayton guys are a bitter sort.

A game cancellation like that isn't all that unusual, especially for the FHL.  I would say it was one more nail for the coffin, but I don't believe the FHL uses coffins to bury their dead.  zomby.gif

Two hander over the top in the vicinity of the ref who was keeping team on or near bench so the opposing team could exit First after a mean spirited third period. Fans seemed to be near the cherry tree chop too. Could have been a very bad situation if it really connected. What was he thinking? Pressure busts pipes. Don’t know what he’s been putting in his. Temper, temper, temper now. Interested if he gets a long sit out. Little fat Vice Commissioner is known to give life sentences. Dumb dee Dumb Dumb. 10-20 games? He was really sneaky about it too

Cornwall Ceases Operations

I personally figured it'd be North Shore since they cancel a lot of games.

Cornwall was in 2nd place before they made this announcement, and had three games scheduled for this coming weekend vs. Watertown.  So the Wolves may suffer the most immediate impact, though it automatically outs them in the 2nd spot.  Good with the bad.

This was coming since day one in Cornwall. One owner lived in moms basement. Two other owners had one foot on a banana peel and other foot on grease lightning. Bottom line Cornwall couldn’t make it in the LNAH and Now the imiginary hockey league.

Not a surprise at all considering that in the last two seasons 2 teams always fold and 1 new team comes in.
