The injury bug continues to bite as Phee moves to IR and Noseworthy extends his stay.  While Phee could return during regular season, Noseworthy won't be back until playoffs.

03/21/17    Noseworthy, Tyler (RW) placed on 21 day IR
03/21/17    Phee, Steven (C) placed on 14-day IR

Witzel can't catch a break as he gets cut from the team for the second time.  The first time was in January after a trio of 3-game tryouts.  When injuries began to take their toll, he was re-signed in late February.  He ultimately earned the first (and so far only) suspension of the season for the Havoc during the infamous game with Knoxville.  Overall, Witzel tallied 4-7-11 points over 17 games and was a plus-8 with 30 PIM.

03/21/17    Witzel, Eric (C) placed on waivers

The post-collegiate train continues with the signing of Darren McCormick.from SUNY-Cortland.  Although he's a rookie, he's already played (briefly) with ECHL Elmira.  In the NCAA D3 program at SUNY, he went 21-10-31 over 25 games in his final year.

03/21/17    McCormick, Darren (LW) signed contract

Witzel was claimed by Peoria.  Best of luck to him as he pulls on a Rivermen jersey.

Piluso and Phee remain on IR.  Both should be eligible for return this week, or they could remain on the shelf while the coach continues to kick the tires on post collegiates McCormick and Sharkey.  McCormick is 4-1-5 and Sharkey is 1-4-5, both in 5 games.

Speaking of the coach, Detulleo completed his three game suspension and should be back behind the bench for the final games of regular season on the road in Fayetteville.

There's no transaction posted, but Michael Holland has been added to the playoff roster.  Holland hails from the Rochester Institute of Technology where he just completed 4 years of play in the NCAA program there.  He played some 3-gamers with Macon in March, was signed, then waived over this past weekend.  He earned 1-2-3 points in 9 games with the #1 franchise in the league.  Now we'll see what he can do with the Havoc.

The playoff roster stands at 19 with the addition of Holland.

Looks like Tyler Steel has his summer planned out with a trip Down Under where he will play for the Adrenaline of the AIHL.  Best of luck to him.

Goalie - Tyler Steel

After a four-year career as the goalie for Brown University in NCAA Div 1, Steel joined the Huntsville Havoc in the USA's Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).

He has been 'Steel-ing' games in that competition. He has a stellar 2.76 goals against average in the competition and in December was named the SPHL Player of the Month.

Just this past weekend Steel outdueled Perth Thunder import goalie Peter Di Salvo in an elimination final in the SPHL. Steel made 32 saves - including 14 in the third period - to help power his team to victory.

His former coach at Brown University calls him a "switched-on player who has the ability to take-over a game."

Steel says he is excited to come to Adelaide but expects to win.

"I'll bring stability, consistency, and hopefully help Adelaide win a Championship. I’m a driven guy, and comfortable with leading by example, on and off the ice. I love to win," he says.

He will join the team after the Havoc are finished their season with his wife.

They might want to rephrase that last line- "He will join the team after the Havoc are finished their season with his wife."
