Rivermen drop Ledy, Leef, bring back Dion, Klecha as final SPHL rosters set

Posted at 4:56 PM

By Dave Eminian

PEORIA — The Peoria Rivermen made their final moves Monday as the SPHL deadline arrived to set final rosters for the playoffs.

Peoria released winger Jackson Leef and defenseman Rich Ledy and activated wingers Cody Dion and Dakota Klecha from injured reserve to set their roster with 11 forwards and 6 defensemen.

Leef turned around and signed with Knoxville, which faces the Rivermen in a best-of-3 first-round playoff series that starts Wednesday at Carver Arena.

The Ice Bears dropped suspended No. 1 goaltender Brian Billett -- who was arrested last week on alleged DUI charges after crashing his car.

Knoxville also is without veteran defenseman Jason Price, who was banned for the rest of the season by the SPHL when he deliberately shot a puck into an opponent’s bench during a game last month. ...

Here is the final Rivermen roster:

Goaltenders: Storm Phaneuf, Tyler Parks.

Defensemen: Dave Pszenyczny, Brandon Greenside, Christian Weidauer, Don Olivieri, Nick Neville, Ben Oskroba.

Forwards: Cody Dion, Ryan Keller, Connor Gorman, Dakota Klecha, Jeff Jones, Dan Bremner, Adam Stuart, Justin Hoomaian, Mike Colantone, Alec Hagaman, Eric Witzel ...

Sorta like the guy in the Sonic commercial who didn't "get the memo", uses his Smart-phone but doesn't get smarter, and tried to use the cherry stem as a straw.

SLB is way smarter than that guy.  He doesn't need a friend sitting in the driver's seat to carry on an excellent game day blog.
