The News Sentinel article actually wasn't terrible.

Ice Bears season ends after 5-1 loss in playoffs
By Phil Kaplan - News Sentinel

Quote

The season ended Friday night for the Ice Bears. Connor Gorman of Peoria scored 25 seconds into the game and the Rivermen cruised to a 5-1 victory at the Civic Coliseum in the quarterfinals of the Southern Professional Hockey League playoffs.

Peoria won the best-of-three series 2-0.

Cody Dion of Peoria made it 2-0 at the 8:31 mark of the first period.

The Rivermen extended the lead to 4-0 on two quick goals to start the second period. It was Gorman again, just 31 seconds into the stanza, followed 21 seconds later by Justin Hoomaian. That ended the night for goaltender Greg Dodds. [Dylan Wells - in the print version]

It didn't stop Peoria, adding a goal by Donald Olivieri against Dylan Wells [Greg Dodds - in the print version] to make it 5-0 after two periods.

The Ice Bears avoided the shutout when Jake Rivera beat Storm Phaneuf with 6:35 played in the third period.

It's the second consecutive season the Ice Bears failed to reach the second round of the playoffs and the third time in franchise history. The Ice Bears started play in 2002 and have won four SPHL championships, the last one in 2015.
