I hope you weren't making a quick turn on the lawn tractor while you were thumbing it in.  ER nurses have no sense of humor.  doctor.gif

Early returns show this fan vote is a joke. Reilly Spraggs must have a fan club.

Any poll with unlimited voting is a joke. For less than $100 you can have a voting-ready bot sophisticated enough to answer most CAPTCHA challenges. Wide open like this? It's practically an insult to the bot.

On the other hand, if your only objective is driving up traffic numbers...

From the Sin Bin (based in Louisiana) page announcing the voting- Now this is funny!

"Louisiana election rules are in effect – you may vote as often as possible,"

A few seasons back, the ECHL sponsored a "Fan of the Year" contest with on-line voting.  The "winners" were busted for auto-voting, and their total vote count was decremented just enough for their closest competitor to win.  Very sad when people stoop to such levels just to see their names & faces on a website.

Looks like Roanoke and Knoxville fans are taking that invitation literally.

They just posted something on Facebook that confirms your point.

Something which is extremely troubling to me has been the apparent usage of scripts to artificially generate votes, rather than manually voting for players on our website. Last season, we initially set our polling system to allow voting every 12 hours. When we learned that the system could easily be compromised, we decided to even up the playing field by allowing unlimited voting - a policy we continue to employ.

I personally find it distasteful and dishonorable for people to use automated scripts and 'bots' to automatically register votes rather than manually selecting and voting for players. We are extremely grateful for all of you fans who have spent hours on your phones, tablets, and computers to legitimately select your favorite players throughout our All Star fan voting and we sincerely encourage you to continue doing so.

Remember, our All Star fan voting is supposed to be for fun and to encourage fans to work together to gather votes for your favorite players - it is not supposed to be a software-writing competition.

Play fair, y'all.

A reflection of their inexperience.  We'll see if they eventually learn the lesson.
