GDT 1/12 7:15PM - Thunderbolts @ Peoria Rivermen

Recommended Posts

Evansville heads to Peoria for their first contest of 2018. The Rivermen have remained hot on their six game streak, and a win over the Thunderbolts would actually pull them even with current league leader Pensacola at 39 points. Evansville remains tied for 3rd with Macon, as both teams are 14-7-4.

The Thunderbolts have actually had considerably more success on the road with a 9-2-3 record (compared to 5-5-1 at home). Peoria has been good both on the road and at home, but comparatively they've also had more success away. 4 of their 6 losses have been at home.

For the players, Dylan Clarke continues to show his veteran savvy. He picked up his 100th professional goal last week, and on the season has 14g, 16a in 25 games played. Newly signed Nick Lazorko had a productive weekend as well getting a goal and 3 assists in his first 2 games. Bo Driscoll defied the odds by scoring against Macon in his first game with Evansville this season. In less fortunate news, he slipped to -1 plus/minus during the 5-2 win over Birmingham, so his streak of non-negative plus/minus is likely over for the season.

Evansville will be playing all of their next 9 games at home or Peoria including a 5 game homestand following Friday night. It'll be a good opportunity to improve on the home record.
