Call Up Question

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know the details of this rule and if it's still in effect.  This is a tweet from Sin Bin's Mike Campos:

Fayetteville's Darren McCormick took a callup today to the Cincinnati Cyclones. If the rules from previous years are still in place, McCormick cannot return to the SPHL this season.

Mr. Eminian to the rescue ...

Quote

DEADLINE DAY: Tuesday is the next big deadline in the SPHL.

After Tuesday (March 6th), any player who takes a call-up to the ECHL can not return to the SPHL this season. ...

Guess he figures he is going to the playoffs with Cincinnati or going home.  Sucks for Fayetteville and their spoiler chances left in the season.

I believe Darren needs to be one that is protected. 3 assists in 4 games, hate he didn't score a goal or two in his time with us, but I think he could be a big asset next season.

I wish he would have stuck with you this year.  You guys killing us, giving away all these easy points to teams near us in the standings.  Evansville lost about 13 in a row then pulled one out against Peoria.  Then you guys make them look like the best team in the league.  You got two against Mississippi next week, help Roanoke out a little.  :2thumbsup:

I'm hoping for us not to set a league record in least amount of wins in a single season (11, Huntsville).

Unless the stars align exactly right on a given night, Fayetteville will not be giving you any help.  The talent just isn't there.  Having said that we did help you out a lot (or more correctly the schedule maker did).  A full 1/3 of ROA's current point total (16 points, 8 wins in 12 games) came against FAY and you have one left to play.  Birmingham only got a bite of the FAY apple 5 times, (3 wins, 6 points).  Having said that I don't think you guys have anything to worry about.  With Barone in goal not only will you move up in the standings, I think in a short playoff series your team has as good a chance as any to win it all.
