Havoc win inaugural Wanda Amos Community Service Award

5 posts in this topic

Congratulations to the Huntsville Havoc - recipients of the inaugural Wanda Amos Community Service Award!

The award recognizes an organization, current team staff member or league alumnus for their charitable contributions within an SPHL community.

Wanda Amos, who owned the Columbus Cottonmouths for 13 seasons, is a major supporter of numerous charitable organizations, including Girls Inc. of Columbus and Phenix City, the John B. Amos Cancer Center and the Elena Diaz-Verson Amos Center for Breast Health at St. Francis Hospital.

In addition to recognition at the annual SPHL Family Dinner, a donation will be made to a charity of the recipient’s choice in their honor.

They did mention the award. Said they’d announce the winner later. Maybe that was Combs’ way of getting back at the booing fans? ^_^

Or they just didn’t want to take away from the attention on the Selection Show.

Whatever the reason for timing of the announcement, that is one truly unfortunate still image to start the video clip.  She looks like she's propped up in a funeral home office, ready for embalming.  deadthread.gif

Yes, it really was bad timing, but it reminded me of Barbara from Shark Tank.
