From Mr. E's River Readings ...

Quote

The Rivermen are 4-5 in their 36-year franchise history in the final game of a playoff series that goes the distance. ... Peoria has not played in a series winner-take-all game since the 2008-09 season in the AHL, when Houston won Game 7 here, 5-2. ... The Rivermen went a league-best 21-6-1 on home ice during the regular-season. ... Huntsville has the top four scorers in the SPHL playoffs, and six of the top seven. ... The Rivermen are led by winger Mike Gurtler’s seven points (five goals). ... Rivermen goaltender Tyler Parks remains the playoffs leader with a 2.01 goals-against and .931 saves rate. ...

JMC, I have only recently (last six months) beeen aware of this fan board. I find your knowledge and insight significant enough that I stop by twice a week to see what's happening. Thank you for providing an informative source for Rivermen Hockey.  Yeah, Rivermen will always be a big deal. Market, Branding et cetera.

You're welcome, Blades.  But just to be clear, my "knowledge and insight" come largely from the internet.  With that universal resource and a little time, anybody can become a Forum Moderator.  Enquire within:thumbsup:

#30 is out on the ice first for each team

That's Asmundsen and Parks for you keeping track at home. No surprise

My keen sense of deduction tells me that Huntsville is scratching Williger while Christian Horn sits for Peoria.

YMMV

I have seen guys get scratched after warm-ups and the guy who was watching has to suit up.

I have no idea what to expect tonight.

I believe momentum stops when the final buzzer blows. Each game is a unique event.

That said, those events don't happen in a vacuum. The Havoc KNOW they can beat Peoria at home and that they can rally.

That said, Peoria was not disappointed Friday night, Huntsville was. That can have a residual effect. Huntsville is making a trip they didn't have to make.

I would be shocked if one team took an early lead and ran away with this. More likely, a close game right until the end.

Either way, the teams will shake hands at the end of the game.

Through the first six minutes, I count 4 HVL turnovers in their defensive zone.
None for Peoria

yet the score is 1-0 HVL
