Rivermen Release Home Schedule

Peoria’s home slate to begin November 2, includes first Education Game in SPHL era

Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen, in conjunction with the Southern Professional Hockey League, have announced the dates of the team’s 2018-19 home games today. The Rivermen will open their home slate November 2 at Carver Arena, and include 11 Fridays, 11 Saturdays, five Sundays, and one 10 AM Thursday contest in mid-December. With the exception of December 13, all Peoria’s home games will begin as they did during the 2017-18 season, at 7:15 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 3:05 PM on Sundays.

The Rivermen will begin their season away from Carver Arena before returning to the Peoria Civic Center for their home opener Friday, November 2, followed by a pair of home games November 9 & 10. Peoria will then host their next games Friday & Saturday the 23rd and 24th of November following Thanksgiving.

Peoria will host four home games in the final month of 2018, playing at Carver Arena Saturday and Sunday December 8 & 9 before hosting the first morning game in Peoria’s SPHL era December 13 at 10 AM, following that with a 7:15 PM contest the next night.

The Rivermen will return to Carver Arena after the turn of the calendar to 2019 with a trio of games January 4-6, including Peoria’s first Family Fun Sunday game of the season. Peoria will host another three-game weekend Friday through Sunday, January 18-20.

Peoria’s home schedule will resume with a single game Friday, February 8, proceeded by a pair of home dates the following Friday and Saturday, February 15 & 16. The Rivermen will then host a trio of games February 22-24 to close out the home portion of the month of February.

The Rivermen will open a three-game, three-night home weekend March 1-3, followed by back-to-back road weekends while the Illinois High School Association hosts its annual March Madness basketball event at the Peoria Civic Center. Peoria will return home for games March 23, 29, and 30, and April 6 to conclude the regular season.

The Rivermen are scheduled to open their 2018 training camp in early October before opening their regular season schedule later in the month. A full schedule of Peoria’s games, home and away, along with opponents for each, as well as the Rivermen Promotional Calendar, will be announced later this summer. ...

Why is it that Brad Kupiec always has to present the Rivermen home schedule in narrative form, rather than in a list that fans can easily digest?  Too many creative writing classes, I guess.  :disgust:

Mr. E was about 15 minutes behind me last night with his text-to-schedule translation.  Must've been a slow connection between my keyboard & his.  :violin:

Rivermen Release Full 2018-19 Schedule

Peoria to open regular season slate October 20 at Quad City

Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen, in coordination with the Southern Professional Hockey League, announced the team’s full 2018-19 schedule Friday morning. The Quad City Storm will be Peoria’s most common opponent, with 16 meetings between the teams split evenly between Carver Arena and the TaxSlayer Center, with the latter hosting Peoria’s regular season opener October 20.

Prior to opening night at the TaxSlayer Center, the Rivermen and Storm will play a preseason contest October 13 at Carver Arena, marking Peoria’s first preseason game since the 2013 preseason when they played a home-and-home pair against the then-Bloomington Thunder. The Rivermen will open their regular season with games October 20 and 26 at Quad City before traveling to Evansville to battle the Thunderbolts the morning of Tuesday, October 30.

Peoria will open the home portion of their regular season schedule November 2 against the Storm, again battling Quad City the following night in Moline. The Rivermen will then host the Fayetteville Marksmen November 9 and 10 before playing a pair at Evansville the 16th and 17th. Peoria will play home games at Carver Arena November 23 against Evansville and November 24 with Pensacola before making the season’s only trip to Fayetteville to take on the Marksmen November 30 and December 1. ...

Was just about to post this. Thought I was crazy when counting their games for the matrix I built. Counted at least 10 times and only came up with 27 away games. It’s missing from both the calendar and their press release. At least the Bolts remember it!

So does Evansville get a forfeit victory when the Rivermen fail to show up?

I just sent a message via the Rivermen website Contact page, asking them to check this game date omission.  Thanks again for catching that, Marky.

The Opening Night Calendar Giveaway will come with one extra sticker for fans to place on the December 15th square.  They'll be an instant collector's item.  :happens:
