Time for the LNAH & the FHL to merge.  Might as well poison another handful of hockey markets with their combined efforts.

I can’t help but think this sort of thing shouldn’t happen.  Why would a league not want to see something valid in writing from a third party showing the ownership group’s cash holdings?  Why would a league be so ignorant of the costs of operating a franchise in their league that a franchise is awarded to owners who won’t be liquid for a third of a season?

Welcome to SPHL Forums, A' AL.

Leagues at the level of the LNAH & FHL - and sometimes those in higher tiers - see new teams & their entry fees simply as a source of operating money to prop up their struggling businesses.  So such mistakes made by these leagues are less about being ignorant and more about being desperate (and often greedy).  Meanwhile there's plenty of ignorance on the parts of the new teams' owners, who seem to think they can make a go of semi-pro or low minor pro hockey without investing heavily & working hard at it.
