Maine, Alaska-Anchorage’s Malcolm Hayes Signs with Marksmen

 

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – After the return of Defenseman of the Year Travis Jeke as the first signing for the Fayetteville Marksmen professional hockey team in 2019, the Marksmen turn their attention to a future candidate-hopeful for the award in Malcolm Hayes.

Malcolm Xavier Hayes, a 24-year-old Atlanta native, took the path-less-traveled enroute to starting his professional hockey career. Rather than go the route of Juniors, Hayes played Prep Hockey at New Hampton (three years) and Cushing Academy in his senior season........

Marksmen Sign Two from Free Agent Camp

 

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Over the weekend in Huntsville, 40+ professional hockey-hopefuls skated in drills and scrimmages hoping for their shot at Training Camp. When the final whistle blew, the three teams had their selections for who would make it to main camp.

Head Coach Jesse Kallechy and Assistant Coach Cory Melkert made their picks count, taking two for the October camp. The two were forward Daniel Martin, and goaltender Harley White.......

Leading Team-Scorer Brian Bowen returns to Marksmen

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Coming over to Fayetteville as one part of a two-for-one trade deal with Pensacola proved to be exactly what power-forward Brian Bowen needed to showcase his dynamic scoring ability, and excel.

After just four points (3G+1A) with the Ice Flyers, Bowen would increase his scoring production tenfold, putting up 42 Points (18G+24A) in his 38 games with the Marksmen.

Couple that in with a Southern Professional Hockey League Warrior Player of the Weekaward plus an ECHL Call-Up to the Norfolk Admirals, and the new horizons paid off in a major way for Bowen.........

Former Havoc, Thunderbolt Dave Williams signs with Marksmen

 

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – 152 Southern Professional Hockey League games. 111 Points (50G+61A). A return to the SPHL.

Nearly a point-a-game player the last season he suited up as a pro, three-year SPHL forward Dave Williams joins the Marksmen following a season-long hiatus.

This time around, the 29-year-old’s reuniting with a pair of old friends – former Coach Jesse Kallechy, and former teammate Cory Melkert.......

Fayetteville-Staple Max Cook Returns to Marksmen

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The nearly point-per-game winger re-signs with the Marksmen.

Coming off of a stellar season, Max Cook is returning to Fayetteville to bring the Marksmen to the President’s Cup playoffs once again.

Last season saw the 6’2, 187 lb winger play 48 games in Fayetteville while scoring 11 goals and notching 29 assists totaling 40 points. Cook, the seasoned SPHL pro has 101 total points in 182 games...........

Marksmen sign WNE’s Connor Graham

 

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Graham turns pro and signs with Marksmen.

The 5’10, 180lb defenseman spent all four of his college years at Western New England University. During his time with the Golden Bears, he played 97 games while putting up 26 points on the blueline.

The dependable defenseman was a constant for the Golden Bears, playing in all of their games throughout his sophomore and senior year........

Pawloski returns to Fayetteville after dynamite playoff run!

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. –  Jason Pawloski returns to Fayetteville following dynamite playoff run.

After starting all three playoff games for the Marksmen last season the 6’0,198lb goalie had an .934% save percentage and a 2.39 goals against average in the President’s Cup playoff run.

Pawloski split time between the SPHL (Fayetteville and Knoxville) and the ECHL (Greenville and Indy) last year after playing four years at Minnesota State University in Mankato...........

Former captain Joe Mitchell signs with Marksmen!

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Former Neumann University, Mitchell captain turns pro with Marksmen.

Mitchell, the 6’0, 174lb center from Buffalo, NY was a staple with the Neumann Knights. In his last two seasons with the Knights, Mitchell was a point per game while serving as the assistant and then eventual captain.

A true two-way forward, Mitchell is reliable at the face-off dot and in his own end while also being able to help carry the offensive load..........

McCloy returns to Fayetteville after Successful First Season

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Fan-favorite McCloy returns to Fayetteville after successful first season in the All-American City.

The Marksmen are excited to announce the signing of Taylor McCloy for the 2019-2020 season. After being acquired from the Quad City Storm in December of last year, the 6’1,198lb wing found himself a crucial part of the Marksmen team that made the President’s Cup playoff.

The left handed winger put up 30 points in 50 SPHL games with the Storm and eventually the Marksmen........

The Marksmen are thrilled to announce the signing of 5’11, 165lb forward Jonny Ruiz.
