Peter Di Salvo BREAKS Chad Collins record

With the Ice Bears win tonight, Peter Di Salvo ties Chad Collins for the most career SPHL wins at 103.

Chad Collins (Fayetteville/Knoxville/Pensacola, 2004-10)
Peter DiSalvo (Pensacola/Mississippi/Fayetteville/Peoria/Macon/Quad City/Knoxville, 2013-21)

Jacob Benson scored twice, Peter Di Salvo made 30 saves for his record-tying 103rd SPHL victory and the Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Birmingham Bulls 4-2 Friday night at the Civic Coliseum.

Di Salvo tied Chad Collins for the most all-time wins by a goalie in league history. The Ice Bears have now won 11 straight at home. Birmingham has lost its past five games.

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Knoxville Ice Bears goaltender Peter Di Salvo set the SPHL record for career wins on Sunday, defeating Huntsville 3-0.

In recording his first shutout of the season, Di Salvo now has 104 career victories, breaking the previous mark of 103 originally set by Chad Collins (Fayetteville/Knoxville/Pensacola, 2004-09).

Now in his eighth professional season, Di Salvo has played for Pensacola, Mississippi (RiverKings), Fayetteville, Peoria, Macon, Quad City and Knoxville in his SPHL career, posting a 104-72-16 mark.

Well, I was thinking of JG rescuing him from Fayetteville in 2017-18 so he could continue his SPHL career.  But your reason would work, too.
