  1. It matters a lot when you are trying to sell tickets to the people in that city.
  2. We had Charles Grant early in the year. He was average for a couple of games. He went to the ECHL and got lit up. While he was gone Michael Doan was here. He was cut when Grant game back. Doan played a couple of good games in Evansville, and he seems to be getting lit up a bit now. He looked terrible in Knoxville. Grant came back from ECHL, didn't look great in about one game, and he was cut to make room for Billett. Wells came in as cheap backup. The NY Rangers lost goalie for 7-10 days. it caused a domino effect of call ups through Hartford and Greenville. Billett took the ope
  3. 1 decent year in US minor Jr. A couple decent years at D3 colleges. One bad game in last year of college. One non-descript game in FHL. I would say he is a barely serviceable SPHL backup goaltender, and that's probably his ceiling.
  4. I don't give a flying flip if you have anything to say about injuries or not. I commented because your response was highly exaggerated and overzealous towards the poster you answered, and he did not address you directly with the question, by the way. You sounded like a pompous ****** with how you replied to him. By the way, this novella furthers that impression.
  5. Nice. We get a defenseman back to go one over on the roster and Metcalfe gets a very convenient injury. I like it. Oh, can I say injury relative to a specific player, Mac? Any guesses on the EBUG for this week and short-term (hopefully) backup goalie for next week or two afterwards?
  6. I don't disagree completely, but if you are a borderline guy on the roster, I'd advise keeping that to yourself. You never know what might sway a roster decision that is close. If you are an SPHL backup goalie, you should tell everyone how great your city is, and then poop rainbow ice cream just for good measure.
  7. I thought his blog was rude and made it clear why he wasn't around anymore. Pretty difficult to pat yourself on the back about being a team guy while you are discussing how awful the city is in which you play. Not a really good way to stick on a team when you are on the fringe.
  8. Is Dunn too far away to stay if I'm coming into town?
  9. Anyone have updates on the medical condition of Tyler Steel?
  10. That's not as fun, in a juvenile kind of way.
  11. When mis-applied to non-applicable situations, they are goofy.
  12. Goofy statement. Injuries are discussed here all the time, and it is a huge stretch to label that as personal lives. If it is a personal struggle with illness outside of a physical injury during the course of play, your statement is understandable; but this conversation hasn't veered either way. The joking with doc is because his defense of his discretion is overblown and over dramatic for what was asked. Seems like doc's doc got your common sense or sense of humor too.
  13. Are you willing to divulge when your sense of humor was removed, if you are willing to acknowledge it was indeed removed?
  14. That's actually quite an ignorant statement if you know anything about the players on the team. Only player you could even remotely call a thug is McNeil, and he has been fodder for real goons in this league for years. The fact you think this team is goons shows how goons have truly disappeared from the SPHL. The only thing resembling goons in the league are Drobot, Barr, and Sicard. Barr and Sicard seem to be chilling out a bit. That leaves Knoxville with a team of large guys that throw weight around because it's a good style for them, especially with our small home ice. It's funny too
  15. Yeah, I had noticed information about his legal problems in looking at some stuff previously. It sure sounds as messy as any other he said/she said cases with similar circumstances. I will tell you in watching him with fans, he left a good impression. I hope he was innocent of the accusations. He could be a bit wild on the ice sometimes, but off the ice he seemed great. Another thing I will tell you is that Coach Craigen does not deal with problem children on his teams. The one thing I will always give him credit for is maintaining a group of guys with a lot of decency. I'm not saying t
