2021 President's Cup Playoffs

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 4, 2021) – The Southern Professional Hockey League on Thursday announced the format for the 2021 President’s Cup Playoffs, which will begin the week of May 3.

2021 PLAYOFF FORMAT
The top four (4) finishers in the league standings will make the playoffs.

SEMI-FINALS
Series A – #1 Seed will play #4 Seed in a best-of-three series

Series B – #2 Seed will play #3 Seed in a best-of-three series

PRESIDENT’S CUP FINAL
The two remaining teams will meet in the best-of-three President’s Cup Final.

The 1st round of the 2021 President's Cup Playoffs will take place the week of May 4th-9th.

A schedule and opponent will be released at a later date.

Round 1 Playoffs scenario:
It all comes down to Pensacola vs. Huntsville on Sunday at 5:00 CDT in Huntsville. (4-4 Win/Loss and 4-4 Home/Away wins this season against each other.) 

If Pensacola wins: 1) Macon vs. 4) Huntsville and 2) Knoxville vs. 3) Pensacola
If Huntsville wins: 1) Macon vs. 4) Pensacola and 2) Knoxville vs. 3) Huntsville
(Even if Huntsville wins in OT resulting in a tie at 41 points, they have the tie-breaker with 20 regular season wins to Pensacola's 17.)

Macon schedule:
Game 1 - Thursday night in Huntsville at 7:00 PM CDT -or- Friday night in Pensacola at 7:35 PM CDT
Game 2 - Saturday night vs. Huntsville in Macon at 6:30 PM EDT
Game 3 - (if necessary) vs. Huntsville Sunday afternoon in Macon at 4:00 PM EDT

Knoxville schedule:
Game 1 - Wednesday night vs. Pensacola in Knoxville at 7:35 PM EDT
Game 2 - Thursday night in Huntsville at 7:00 PM CDT -orFriday night in Pensacola at 7:35 PM CDT
Game 3 - (if necessary) Sunday vs. Pensacola in Knoxville at 5:00 PM EDT

#1 Macon Mayhem vs. #4 Huntsville Havoc
Game 1 – Thursday, May 6 at Huntsville 7:00 pm
Game 2 – Saturday, May 8 at Macon 6:30 pm
Game 3 – Sunday, May 9 at Macon 4:00 pm (if necessary)

#2 Knoxville Ice Bears vs. #3 Pensacola Ice Flyers
Game 1 – Wednesday, May 5 at Knoxville 7:35 pm
Game 2 – Friday, May 7 at Pensacola 7:35 pm
Game 3 – Sunday, May 9 at Knoxville 5:00 pm (if necessary)

All playoff games can be seen on SPHL TV, powered by HockeyTV, and are included free with the SPHL Season Pass.
